General / Off-Topic Joker. ( I think DC nailed it! )

Not sure where your getting that from.

The core definition of hero, long before it was an English word, even before there was an English Language, always had more to do with courage and magnitude of accomplishment than more modern virtues. The definition of hero I'm referencing allows for heroes like Achilles, or Audie Murphy.
Don't forget Darth Vader.

He does fit the whole "killed a crap ton of OPFOR while facing personal danger" that is the unifying theme behind the disparate ideals of classical heroics. I wouldn't personally consider him a hero, at least not until he kills the Emperor, as, until that point, he's an archetypal servant of orthodoxy and symbol of corrupt authority...but it's hard to imagine him not being seen as a hero by most loyal Imperials.

I just thought I'd put that out there since you turned a serial murderer and criminal into a superhero. Figured we could add Hannibal Lecter to the list while we were at it.

Well, I certainly can't take credit for the Joker's heroic qualities, but I will point out that quite a few less controversial heroes are criminals and murderers.

He fits too. Phenomenally adept at killing his enemies; most of whom were asking for it (revenge being a prime motive for many real and literary 'heroes'), were otherwise scum, or were clear threats to himself (making their deaths self-defense)... though there were certainly some relatively innocent people in his body count (most of them during his Chesapeake Ripper phase); and was more than willing to put his safety on the line while doing so.

If DC tries to make a psychotic murderer a hero, we rage out.
If marvel makes a psychotic murderer into a hero, DEADPOOL!

Marvel just does things RIGHT and DC is LEFT behind

So edgy.

DC: "Awright, look, we'll do the Joker! The Joker!! He's gonna be great, we got Joaquin, Joaquin Phoenix!!"

Fans:"Hey, that looks kinda good- "

DC: "-- But it's a one off, and has nothing to do with Batman!"

Bradley Cooper is the voice of Rocket. Ryan Gosling, you're silly

The movie is pretty good after today’s standards, the character is complex, the story is interesting, I like it, but he is not a hero, just a misused and disturbed person who drifts deeper and deeper into madness.
