I think EDH is fine as it is. Please stop new content. It is not needed. Please make the game real and dangerous, as it was in 1984. The void is not Disneyland, its harsh and cold. Atmospheric landings can be several versions of animation, or farm it out to another sim company to finish. We have enough here to last 10 more years. Just make it nigh impossible and you will have a winner game. Space legs? Really?

I never said customers are screwing it up. I said customers are whining cos they got what they asked for.

I work in a service company and yes I talk to my customers exactly like this. Honesty and integrity builds trust and followed up with competent performance instills respect from your customer base.
However whining spoilt gamers have very little respect for anything due to the anonymity of the interwebs so they stomp their feet and cry when they get what they asked for.
But as usual these conversations are not worth the effort so....
You work in a service-company? Me too, therefore I'm afraid that you are not telling the whole story.

I HAVE TO "forge" my client-conversations, otherwise I would compromise or blame my own company.

If I told my clients the plain, hard truth I would have to search for another job;)

Community askes for more time put into fixing bugs and getting enhanced beta testing...

Community complains that testing and bug fixing slow down development of new stuffs...

That is a prime example why community in general has no idea how this stuff works...

Keep up the good work FDev o7

You just said that. And I think that you mean CLIENT not customers.

FD: We announce something great that everyone is excited. We show pictures or little movies. Then we bring out a small update with bugs, which we, after all the complaints, of course, must first eliminate. We are moving the great thing to months into the future or simply not talking about it any more. That's how we keep the players happy :LOL:

I'm a specialist in my field... And a bit of a pedant so yeah I've had to curb some of my 'enthusiasm' on occasions but I have no qualms about stating cold hard facts :)

When did I say that they were screwing it up? not in any of my previous posts that's for sure. Complaining - yup I deffo said that :p

Notice the bug squashed in the second picture. Resolute action against bugs must be taken and it will be worth it.

X4 from egosoft i just thougt about what they could Realität with the ed money. See x games there are 20 devs. And waiting for railjack in wareframe
Good luck with that!
I've not played it all year, players think ED is buggy & unplayable.....it's bug free compared with X4. I couldn't do anything on most screens without an immediate CTD:mad:.

I would expect that by now a few/some/most/all of X4's issues are now sorted, but tbh I haven't even bothered to load up since late December.....it was that bad.

Delay on Fleet Carriers again, that's very dissappointing, however at least FD have come clean about it & let us know what's happening in the short term.
Now it's up to the team to clean up these pesky bugs & deliver us future updates that won't bork the game;)

Community: We want Panther Clipper!
FD: we working on it

+halfyear later+

FD: We working on Fleet Carriers instead! It will take a year!
Community: but we want the Panther Clipper!
FD: oh cmon, it will be unhealthy for BGS
Community: then fix the BGS
FD: nonononono fk this shi1

+year later+

FD: We proudly announce we will be working on bugs and fixes instead of Carriers!
Community: oh muh... Carriers? Panther? what, but whyyy..
FD: Take this kick in the balls please! You already bought our ARX, and already got our game online to good numbers while grinding credits to unknown numbers of carriers cost! We like it! We need more! So we like to have 1/2 year of this again!
Community: Take this kick in the FD (leaves the game for a year)

Greetings Commanders,

Following the launch of the September Update last month, we’d like to provide you all with an update on our plans for Elite Dangerous.

Firstly, thank you for all of your feedback on the September Update, which you've shared with us on the forums, across social media, on livestreams and through the Issue Tracker. There is no doubt that, in addition to the new features, the September Update introduced a number of issues and bugs which caused a lot of frustration. We are really sorry for these issues. We realise that some of the issues had an impact on your ability to enjoy Elite Dangerous. The team have been working hard to address the most critical issues and have already released a series of patches and updates to bring those fixes in as quickly as possible.

However, we know there's more to be done. You've asked for more focus on existing bug/fixes and issues, and for the community to be better integrated into the development process and testing for these upcoming updates.

In order to improve your overall experience, we have decided to refocus our efforts on addressing key issues and bugs. Since the launch of the September Update, we've been taking a deeper look at our internal development roadmap, the way in which we utilise public betas, and the content of our next updates.

Here is a summary of our plans:
  • From now and into next year (2020), the updates will focus almost exclusively on addressing recent and longstanding issues, including those reported in the Issue Tracker, ultimately making the game better.
  • We are expecting to have a series of these updates, which will be rolled out (approximately) every three to four months.
  • Each update will also include a public beta that will run prior to the update's release, with a dedicated time to address major issues that appear.
  • The first of these updates will have its public beta in December, with an expectation that the launch will be early in 2020.
As a result of our updated plans, we have made the difficult decision to defer the release of Fleet Carriers. We are now planning for Fleet Carriers to be released in an update in the second quarter of 2020, rather than in December 2019 as previously stated. This will grant us additional time to refine the feature as well as focusing time on addressing existing reported issues. It will also ensure the state of the game is in a better position to introduce Fleet Carriers, that will provide Commanders even more opportunities to interact with the Milky Way. We understand that this delay will be disappointing for some players, but do know that this decision is one that we do not take lightly, and is made with the best interests of the community and game at heart.

Ultimately, we are confident that this will improve the Elite Dangerous experience for all our players.

The team have been hard at work on the next major milestone, which you may remember we mentioned back in March as our next major paid addition to the game. They’re making fantastic progress and on schedule for release by the end of next year. We are very excited to show you what we’ve been working on. However, we can only announce the content when it’s at the right stage of development, we estimate this will be ready to talk about at some time in summer 2020, after the Fleet Carriers update. We appreciate there is a bit of a wait, but we want to make sure it is ready to be shown before making our full official announcement to the world.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing and continued support and for helping give us the feedback, steer and insight to make decisions that will benefit the entire community and for your continued passion and dedication.
Archon is happy!

X4 gets buckfixes frequently. And Most issues can be fixed by moding if you have the Passion. Its a good games comparing 20 devs to fake 100. Just Compare the last x Bugfix to ed. And you will See the Passion on both sides. Same goes for communication

I'm as disappointed as many about fleet carriers, although with the limited facts we have about them there's not much to get excited about in the first place, I was just looking forward to something new 'non-Thargoid' to try out. But I appreciate and strongly agree that it's more important to fix existing bugs before new content is added.

I'm more disappointed that we have to wait three months between bug-fix updates. Really?? Why can't we have the most pressing bugs (we all have our own opinion on which ones they are) fixed one at a time, tested and released as soon as confirmed 'fixed', cracking on with the next one straight away?

I'd much rather see weekly/fortnightly updates, even if it's fixing one bug a week.

Finally a devteam understands they'll have to fix things first before moving on to new content, trust me when i say most major companies and big players in the gaming industry could learn from this major decision, Thanks for making the only right call Will, u guys have my support ;)

Noop, customers are not EXPERT. They were annoying oranges and they will be annoying oranges... and I were and will be, too. Company must understand contexts from annoying oranges. If a customer manager said like you, that company will start to lose thier customers.

And It is FDev who had made bugs not CMDRs. And It is FDev who had promied and delayed Fleet Carrier not CMDRs. But... I think that you still feel like "CMDRs; customers, screwed up everything."

#NOARX #UNTILFLEETCARRIER

Yeah, and I said that "... I think that you still feel like "CMDRs; customers, screwed up everything." ...".. hm..
