Just throwing in my thoughts after 50 pages [which I did not read all of] is for FDev to implement fleet carriers and the new content and everything as they go over the next 12, 18, 60 months [what ever] but keep it unavailable for all/most players just like it's done with the base game/horizons now.

Then, they know the code works and it can just be turned on by 'doing a release'. It would also give the NPCs a chance to 'test' some of the stuff like new ships or new wpns, FDev just have to let us know that NPCs may have new tech and that it's not YAB [yet another bug] :)

I'm throwing @Will Flanagan in case you've not thought of this idea and I hope you'll notice it :D

after reading trough this thread it dawned me,a solution to fixing everything:

Everyone stop spending money on arx, when the income stops, the company will invest resources and get everything fixed in 3 motnhs
otherwise they will never change their way, they dont care about complaints, the only thing they understand is,they are providing a very subpar service
and still making $$$$,why would they invest anything and fix the game? its rather simple when you think it this way

I agree and would assume everyone would hold off buying arx but I have a feeling some of the zealots will even spend more than usual to say thanks-ever-so for having content delayed.

Some folk sure are strange.

It takes nearly a week to get patches and updates approved on consoles I believe, and of course, any changes can have unintended consequences, so pumping out a stream of patches and fixes constantly is a horrifically bad way to handle this.

It wouldn't be 'horrifically bad" because bug fixes will be beta tested before release.

Week 1: fix 1st bug, seek approval
Week 2: fix 2nd bug, receive approval for first bug and release it for beta testing, seek approval for second bug
Week 3: fix 3rd bug, receive approval for 2nd bug and release it for beta testing, release patch for 1st bug assuming beta testing successful, seek approval for third bug.

And so on...

But what do I know?

To be fair I think you would need to wait and see what the new era brings (given it is the part of the Elite dev team that allegedly consumes most of its resources atm) in order to properly judge that.

The evangelist has spoken. Let us praise Frontier above all things.

Just a pun...couldn't help it...Sorry. 😁

I'm curious what these so called bugs are that need addressing so desperately. I have no issues with the game, it works just fine. These issues are also so severe that it will take ~9 months to resolve them before they can get back to Fleet Carriers? A bit more information would be nice here.
Give us something worthwhile to do in the interim at least. Bring back CG's or maybe tell us how much the Fleet Carriers will cost, so we can set ourselves some goals. That's what Elite is all about isn't it? Setting goals and achievements? At the moment there's nothing left to strive for, this is the biggest problem :-(

If introduction of Arx broke the game in such way that needs months of fixing, i don't want to think about how much time the game will be unplayable after Fleet Carriers.

Elite is about making YOUR OWN goals and acheivements, not to SERVE you goals and achievements. Sorry to disilussionize you.🤷‍♀️

Well, on xbox last night I was outside of Jameson and got into a scuffle with another lad. ATR showed up, and kept showing up until there were ~1000 ATR vultures in the instance. There are a bunch of these quirks currently in the game.

As to why they need so long to sort it out.... who the hell knows. it should have been done already

A decision i do suport, hope the game becomes more stable, since more content without the game running propper, means zero!

In the meantime hope you release info on what is to come to keep us interested and in the loop.

Delaying a delayed announcement of a announcement... for a second time... Wow!(Owen wilson style)
Well at least they made a correct decision with focusing on the bugs, so theres a positive.

Arx could be described as a QoL update. OK so it was tone-deaf and badly received. But it puts all players on the same playing field, makes buying stuff all in-game for everyone and it lets you buy cheap stuff that you couldn't before. It probably streamlines the code-base.

Sure it had advantages for the cash-flow that FD would have been blind not to notice and that was probably a large part of the reason they did it. But it could have been justified as QoL, which was what 2019 was about.
Lets say that's true....it isn't but we will make believe for a moment it is. ..of all the QoL improvements they could have made...THIS was the most important? Or even important at all? Give me a break. That was some of the most incredible fanboi brown nosing ive seen in awhile.

I welcome the effort to solidify the game before the new era. Else you would be building on a brittle foundation and disaster would be inevitable.
Expand. Consolidate. Expand. Consolidate. Expand...etc.
That's how empires are build.

Doesn't sound good for Elite then.

You can consolidate all you want, in the end empires remain brittle and will eventually crumble. :p
