Well the only game is his super-duper list that I've played is Elite. I never did buy a game-boy.

But then I might be being unfair... Expecting a triple-a from a company housed in rented premises :)
I only played the RCT-Series, they were real fun. And I own JWE (mediocre at best) and Planet Coaster (again fun). The Others, well I'm not a console-jockey too, but what does that really matter?

Triple A games have STARTING budgets in the hundreds of millions. Your comparison to a triple A standard is factually incorrect and might be seen as somewhat delusional. As far as "quality" of triple A games...@Eliza, you forgot the dumpster fire that was Anthem in your list.

I dont have to: I think the point is that actual facts seem to contradict a bit your "bug ridden mess" qualification. Unless of course your personal definition of "bug ridden mess" includes dev best selling franchises that continue growing their player base after 5 years. In which case we both agree indeed! :)

I'm confused, are there bugs in this game or not? Are you contradicting Will's OP and stating that nothing needs fixing? Can you quantify "bug ridden mess"?

For X-Mass can we have s3 (large) rail guns? plz?
Large Rails are really not nessecary. You fly best with small rails...less heat...less power-consumption...and to be honest rails are only playable "pimped" with superpen for example.

We were supposed to get the FC's last year...Delayed. Promise after promise after promise. Big hype for release.....then delay again. Having done the grind for 22 Billion credits was the only thing keeping me in the game. No FC's No Point for the grind. They have released nothing of worth this year so what have they been doing? It certainly wasn't ED development
It seems like they are working on the 2020 major expansion.

The elephant in the room is this;

I may be wrong, but the new title is a collaboration to which Frontier will have to prove themselves capable of delivering. To do so, one would imagine, the company would put whatever resources are necessary to achieve that goal.

Again, I may be wrong... In both their collaboration in the new title, and their ability to deliver.... chuckle
The new franchise IP? So, like Jurassic World Evolution where FDev collaborated their JWE team of 100 devs with Universal Studios and co?

But are they, The game is either too big and complicated to fix in a reasonable time, either the staff is completely unproductive, either they don't care at all.

I'm certain that the staff is competent.

And I can't fathom any other reason for them to be so opaque with every godamn little detail!
And before anyone says they dont say anything cause you are never happy... well no.

I would be happy to know that they are working on the volumetric cloud effect for the gas giant, or anything else really.

They seem to be doing the same thing they did with the CQC tournament thing!

Fdev cant sweep one entire under the rug... it doesnt fit!

They're doing both. Majority of the team on New Era, with the remainder working on two Bug Fix updates then Fleet Carriers.
Surely not - 1st bugfix January, FC Q2 (April/May), 2nd bugfix September I thought - did you lot demand 2 lots of bugfixes before Q2? Audacious ;)

From the OP:
  • First BugFix update arrives in January (after beta in December)
  • Fleet Carriers update coming Q2 2020, so probably June
  • Second BugFix update somewhere in-between the above two
Alternatively, Fleet Carriers could include second BugFix update.

While I have to commend the communities overall positive attitude, this feels like gross project mismanagement dressed up as process improvement, things have felt half done for some time now. The answer shouldn't be "you can have bug fixes but we're delaying new content half a year". :-( If anything wasn't that the point of the first half of the year, it's been slow for a while...

Then,

"We can wait you to fix bugs but we'll withhold buying ARX half a year"

I think that is quite fair to me.

Yeah, I read the OP. it's notable that you don't quote it as you're 'making stuff up' 🤦‍♀️

.... The team have been working hard to address the most critical issues and have already released a series of patches and updates to bring those fixes in as quickly as possible.

However, we know there's more to be done. You've asked for more focus on existing bug/fixes and issues, and for the community to be better integrated into the development process and testing for these upcoming updates.

In order to improve your overall experience, we have decided to refocus our efforts on addressing key issues and bugs. Since the launch of the September Update, we've been taking a deeper look at our internal development roadmap, the way in which we utilise public betas, and the content of our next updates.

Here is a summary of our plans:
  • From now and into next year (2020), the updates will focus almost exclusively on addressing recent and longstanding issues, including those reported in the Issue Tracker, ultimately making the game better.
  • ....
Yay! for bug fixes.
I must say that I don't mind delays on new features if that means we are still left with a playable game that doesn't turn round and kick us in the shins every verse end.
