On the forum rather than in the game now?

Always was.
But I did fight in a lovely little war last night for hours. To defend an asset in a system that I knew the AEDC wanted, but I didn’t know we’d taken.

Can’t brag about specifics because we’re still a day way from victory, but yeah, not many payer groups govern one of these.

Taking stuff is one thing, but can you hold the ground you took? ;)

What does this have to do with time in-game Vs time on the forum?

Doing both, always have.

But if I stop playing ED I stop coming to the forums, just doesn't make any sense to troll a forum for a game I don't currently play.
Good point... I think I'm trying to analyse why my percentage of time on the forum is increasing as my game involvement drops... I really think I'm in search of good news about ED and more importantly tips/ideas/experiences from other commanders that can set me on a new and interesting path in the game.... you know.. something not seen or experienced by/for myself... whilst Fdev news is usually sparse there are often gems of info from other OP's............................... o7

If you want a cause to work for message me, I can provide motivation for experienced, independent minded players.

As always my forum time is greater than my game time. I just spent the last two and half hours waiting for a call to do a pick up. No chance of playing in case the call came when at an inconvenient game time.

I've struggled to hold my interest recently.

So I went exploring because you can put it down and walk away without losing out. The last week I've been following a rabbit hole downwards, a long way down below the plane. It's been really tricky, had to use full jumponium neutron boost assist twice so far to reach the little islands of forgotten stars that are catching my eye.

Yesterday I was rewarded with my first CN Carbon Star. Never seen one before and if i can remember the way back I guess that one will have my name on it.

Understand what you are saying Commander and can sympathise with your predicament. Three points I would like to offer though:

(1) Don't try to play the way someone else does. You have got this far in the game because you have developed your own persona in the game. Trying to play the same as someone else can lead to dissatisfaction I think. Personal opinion of course, I just could never play this game based on how someone else plays it, no matter how much 'fun' they claim to be having.

(2) There is still lots to do in the game, I remember one of the Mods once (ages ago) posted a list of activities he hadn't done, it was a pretty long list and he thought he had done most things in the game. All I can recommend is remember back to what you originally really enjoyed doing. It might be a simple as going back to a small non-engineered ship or going on a long journey.

(3) Don't be worried if you end up taking a break from the game. To me, the ability to take a break and come back refreshed after a month or three is one of the biggest bonuses of the game. Very few other games can duplicate that in my experience, most are once played then put aside, rarely to be played again. And sometimes taking that break from ED just shows how good the game is. When you try to find something similar and you can't, when you end up comparing every other game to ED and they all fall short of expectations, then you know just how good this game is.

Take care and safe travels Commander

Good, sound advice here (y)...... thanks.... a bit of re-focusing I needed methinks...........

I come and go on the forums but rarely stay away from the game for long unless work demands it. The saltiness can be even more wearisome than the bugs and if I have a childish tantrum in game no one sees it, online my stupid outburst is there for all to see.

Getting older hasn’t made me less childish, just wise enough to hide it from people...most of the time. :)

I was doing the same thing way above the Galactic core - quite enjoyable, everything undiscovered, found a couple of earth-likes... Unfortunately, I decided that it was a good idea to make my way back to the Bubble in anticipation of Fleet Carriers in December.:ROFLMAO:

Just wondering if other ''Commander's'' forum lurking is outstripping their in-game time.... it is for me recently.... o_O
It’s pretty understandable. Many of us are invested in the game but have exhausted most of what it has to offer at this point. Since the Fleet Carrier delay was announced I’ve really struggled to stay logged in. I’ve engineered an exploration Orca and a Mamba to G5 over the past 2 weeks out of sheer boredom. On the plus side, HGE rates are definitely better.
