Add button binds for Docking Request and SuperCruise Assist

I'd use a bind for SCA.
Stacking missions and getting interdicted 4-8 times per run and having to go through menus to reactivate SCA after every interdiction, well it gets tedious eventually

Not sure i'd use a bind for Docking request.
But it will be damn useful for certain race types where you should fast retry docking to get a better pad.

But there is a button bind for the DC/ADC - zero throttle. There is even a dedicated command for that in the options menu.

They're asking for a docking request button, nothing to do the the DC

oops my bad, that will teach me to trying to be intelligent after Friday afternoon drinks :D

As for the docking REQUEST (yep will stay on track if I can), since FD redesigned the menu I find asking for docking now much quicker - but then I am using a HOTAS and have that well set up for this type of thing.

I am aware of those but that is not what I asked for. I asked for a one press button that requests docking.

I'm sick and tired of POVLeft-Joy2-Joy2-POVRight-Joy1. Sick Sick Sick of it!

X.

Voice command or VR :p

VoiceAttack only works if you are already on the Navigation tab. Anywhere else and it gets lost.
If there was a button that selects that tab specifically then it could be macro'd.

Come to think of it, give us a button bind that jumps right to Navigation Tab!

The other thing is I would like the sc-assist button to be a toggle. So you can select a target and toggle it on, and when you get to a planet (and it puts you into orbit) you can toggle it off.

Yep, that is desperately needed, especially for those of us who use the SCA to trim a few seconds off our arrival time. It would be nice if the SCA is simple On/Off button or key compatible.

Yeah... taking my eyes off my direction of travel to disable the SCA on approach to planetary settlements (since that won't actually take you there, and will only orbit the planet) is very annoying.

Personally, I'd also like to see them fix the bug where activating/deactivating the SCA simply doesn't work at all, randomly.

Very true. Also would help when you get interdiction attempts just before you reach a target - messing with the nav panel while also turning back around to the target often see me doing a loop of shame. Which sc-assist otherwise helps avoid :D

What is worse is when you are getting very close to your destination and want to either turn the SCA on or off. Quickly open the Nav panel only to find out that the menu is now defaulted to some weird and totally unrelated body (or even another system) and you have to madly scroll up or down to find your destination. Of course by then there is a good chance you have overflown your destination anyway :(

... and just while I'm on the roll with SCA issues... I hate it when you're too far away from a POI for it to register as being behind a planet, and your first indication of this is when you hear your ship crash out of supercruise :( This is because the SCA disengages when it loses a direct line to the target and just lets you carry on in a straight line...

Really, damn. I must be lucky then and catch it just at the right time when the target is obscured. All that I have had happen is the SCA disengages and the ship continues on whatever throttle setting I have the HOTAS set to, which is normally zero. Never had the SCA kick me out of SC yet, looks like my luck has been good.

It happens mostly when I'm SCA'ing to a Conflict Zone, since they're up to just 2Mm away from a planet.

[Strange, my multi-quote function seems to be no functional]

Factabulous and Jmanis, I guess I am lucky although I tend to set the SCA and lean back in the chair and watch TV with one eye still on the monitor - hence why I tend to notice as soon as something is happening regarding the SCA.

Funny thing is I do take precautions when I have to land dirt side. I will turn off the SCA way before it even thinks about going into an orbit, in fact I have never seen how the SCA handles an orbit :D
