So tell me again, how is Frontier somehow more "generous" than every other gaming company out there?
I only need to kill 700 more ships at this CZ before I can afford to make my Flying DeLorean with the correct palladium paint color!
So tell me again, how is Frontier somehow more "generous" than every other gaming company out there?
I'm not really sure the OP qualifies as a new player with a thousand hours in the game, even if there are things left unexperienced.
Regardless, there is still a lot to do and I still have a lot of fun with the game. Indeed, I wouldn't play it as much as I have or still do, if I didn't think it was worth my time. However, blind praise isn't an impetus to improve and ignoring flaws in something one's purchased is just invitation to be taken advantage of in the future.
Not so much about willingness to spend money on Elite, but the fact that we're looking for a lot out of a game with a very low cost on our end. Considering the resources they have coming in for Elite, I think the pace of development isn't bad - we're not a huge, chart-topping game, and the microtransactions are incredibly no-impact on the game.I don't think the issue is about whether customers will cough up money. It's about the lack of new content purchasable to customers.
I personally don't agree with the notion to buy the same game twice just for a second save slot, but fine if others are ok with that. If FDev twisted my arm I could possibly be convinced to buy a second save slot via Arx if it was offered and priced fairly (as ridiculous as it would be but just shows how us Elite players are conditioned at this stage that this would be acceptable).
But I would definitely pay full price for proper, full-fat DLC (provided it actually works) rather than messing about with largely sub-par quality microtransactions that don't really add anything to the game itself. I don't believe I'm alone either. It's got nothing to do with Arx either which is a separate topic really.
blablablaGenerous? Don't make me laugh. When I bought RDR2*, it was a FINISHED game (unlike ED), and then later they added a completely new and separate component (RDO) for free. Granted, RDO offers microtransactions, but so does ED (cough STORE cough). ED's updates are either fixing broken things (bringing back colors to beige planets) or adding trivial things like the FSS to fill in place holders. RDR2 and other games like it don't have placeholders to be filled like ED does, so they don't NEED the updates that ED needs, and when we do get updates for things like bugs, they are free.
This goes for just about all the games I own - Tomb Raiders, Uncharted, Spider-Man, Horizon Zero Dawn, etc. But then there are games like Overwatch and NMS, both of which have gotten way more content over the years FOR FREE than ED has. So tell me again, how is Frontier more "generous" than every other gaming company out there?
* on PS4
Hey now, it could easily be both.Anyway, not much point in discussing with you about this since you are clearly unable or unwilling to get the point.
I am with you here. Am not sure why, objectively it is pretty simple but there is just something incredibly immersive dropping out of SC, approaching a station and flying in. They truly are massive beasts.Well, at 1000 hours basic gameplay still can do wonders. In fact, one of the few things that remained enjoyable and awesome (to me) in the game was docking and un-docking, it almost makes me reinstall the game...
Spider-Man and Horizon Zero Dawn are crap, are they? LOL, well at least we agree there's no point in having a discussion, seeing that you are clearly disconnected from reality. Keep drinking that Kool-Aid, it must be good!Apart from RDR 2 the games you listed are crap, worse than CQC if you ask me. Anyway, not much point in discussing with you about this since you are clearly unable or unwilling to get the point.
Nah, I am just doing the same thing you are doing. Posting nonsense (I never played Horizon Zero Dawn, I don't own a PS4). The problem is that you completely ignored the point I made (receiving content updates for a 5 years old game) and countered it by listing games which aren't even remotely related. Then you put words in my mouth. Why?Spider-Man and Horizon Zero Dawn are crap, are they? blablabla
I didn't say more than every other gaming company out there. Apart from RDR 2 the games you listed are crap, worse than CQC if you ask me. Anyway, not much point in discussing with you about this since you are clearly unable or unwilling to get the point.
That's what I said:I agree that the games are unrelated and not really a good comparison to Elite, but where did he put words in your mouth?
Facts don't matter in the face of stubborn disagreement. That's what I said:
'Let's not forget though that, for a normal user, FDEV has been one of the most generous developers in the entire industry'
That's what he said:
'So tell me again, how is Frontier more "generous" than every other gaming company out there?'

Not anymore. If I say you are one of the most annoying posters in this thread
Who cares what you said? Was I replying to you? Or was I replying to somebody else referencing the context of what somebody else said?Do you just come here to insult people or do you also talk about Elite on occasion?
Btw, I literally said I agree with him. But that doesn't matter in the face of stubborn condescension.

True enough.I am all the most pretty posters in this thread![]()
Here you go, my new favorite space-game flavor of the month! At this stage, only a Steam Chart can help this thread out. Where have all the Steam charts gone!
