Community Event / Creation The Buckyball Racing Club presents: Lava Loop (16th Nov to 24th Nov 3305)

Have hit a bit of a snag guys. Have an improved time but the website that I grab my screenshots from that takes them from my Xbox is not updating my latest screens. It's stuck at 300 screenshots which might mean there's a cap. It's gamerdvr dot com

I have screenshots on my Xbox to prove my latest time and if anyone is on Xbox they can add me and see my latest 7 screengrabs to prove my time but at the moment I can't send a link. I've taken snaps of my screen with my tablet though.

If anyone has a workaround please let me know as I'm dying to post this time and would like to get on and do more!
Can you remove the old images from the runs you've already submitted to make space?

upload them to onedrive, sign in there, if you cant share from one drive, download them, create a googledrive and make a shareable folder, pop them in there and send the link to the folder.

thought would try squueze in a run after all on dbx xbox losing me at least 10 seconds a stop as got wait before screencap or it caps 6 - 8 seconds before moment i said captur :(

EDIT: and now lost a full minute through it!!!! had to go bk to redock to get a screengrab!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Xbox grabs the screen from the moment you hit the home button..don't wait for it to confirm, you just have to believe as you're going down into the landing pad to relaunch lol

Yeah I would hit home button and Y.. and it would confirm about 6-10 seconds later.. is very annoying. I just gotta press the two buttons and then carry on and hope for the best, the annoying but is when it doesn't do it!

Steam does the same thing now and again. Screenshot gets saved, alert goes off 10+ seconds later. (Could be waiting for hard drive to spool up in my case)

Managed to get in two runs, before discovering that the hardware keeping my HOTAS attached to my new flight chair wasn't quite screwed in tight enough. 😱 Since my second run of the evening was slower than my first, so I'm calling it good. At least I managed to improve my time a little bit, though my docking attempt (emphasis on attempt) at Hale Orbital cost me a lot, as well as bad drop into normal space (73 km!) at Edison Survey.

You can face palm at my antics below in about an hour. ;)

A belated hello to Cmdr Darplata94, who lapped during my second run. 🖖

not quite what i meant, what i mean is the screenshot itself, not the confirmation was being taken before ship had landed, as in 6 - 8 seconds in earlier gametime, not from when i hit button to take :( as it is because of all this, finished with a of 35 - 36 mins time in a stripped out dbx, without issues would b a respectable 29ish mins and outside submission deadline time :(

I know it's too late now, but for next time I think there's a game DVR app on Xbox that allows you to record gameplay, so you don't have to faff about with screenshots at all.

Hurrah!! Final time submitted!!

Gamedvr were very kind and increased my screenshot limit so now it works again.
There was plenty of time left in my run, a better pilot could've definitely improved on both my approaches and landings but I'm happy with it.
The hauler is an amazing beast and barely sips any fuel compared to the courier.

GG to everyone and thanks for putting this event on it's been a blast!! Happy to rep the Xbox crew along with Skips! 😂

The race is over and the preliminary results are in, which take into account all existing submissions. This has been a fascinating race to watch with new and old faces alike pushing hard in their familiar ships and trying new ones, persevering and surpassing their previous efforts. A big thank you and well done to everyone who took part!

In Regulation Hauler first place goes to CMDR Bob Dubrovnik in the Hypergolic with a time of 25:20. Congratulations on a win and in your first BRC event! In second place, a late charge by CMDR Ozric in The Littlest Hobo was not enough to take the lead but a time of 25:35 is not far off. In joint third, there is CMDR Captain-MD with his early benchmark time of 25:43, equalled on the final day by CMDR Bruski in the Lazarus. Nice flying! Another late effort saw CMDR Beth Johanson in the Haulin' Arx move up a place into 8th with a time of 28:39. With reports of obscured jumps in both directions on the final day, these new times are certainly an achievement but everyone who completed a time in the Regulation Hauler has done well, with its heat and fuel challenges.

In Unlimited, first place goes to CMDR Shaye Blackwood in the Imperial Courier Fireball with a time of 15:54. Congratulations and again the first place goes to a newcomer to Buckyball Racing Club events, showing us that we still have a thing or two to learn! Almost a minute ahead of his closest opposition, CMDR Shaye Blackwood showed expert corkscrew approaches to each waypoint and a clear familiarity with outpost landing pads, wasting almost no time in setting down with very smooth pad touchdowns. (I do hope you'll consider revealing your videos for your best times in both your Imperial Courier and your Asp Explorer). In second place is CMDR Bruski in his Hauler, Lazarus, with a time of 16:53. CMDR Bruski and several others showed that the Hauler was a good match for this course in Unlimited as well and this time demonstrates its traits of jump range, speed and manoeuvrability. In third place is CMDR Shaye Blackwood's entry with his Asp Explorer, Caranwen, with a time of 16:57 achieved with one of the few anti-clockwise runs of the race. The often drifty Asp was flown with great aplomb, handling the attitude and speed with great care to ensure smooth pad touchdowns. The highest-placed new entry on the final day was another Hauler, the WubWub, flown by CMDR Pigletslastand, one of two XBox CMDRs who entered the race. His time of 17:29 placed him in a highly-respectable fifth. Another fast time achieved with not long to spare was from CMDR Sulu in his Imperial Courier Anabasii Celeste, with the culmination of much practice over the week being rewarded with a time of 17:39, placing him in seventh. CMDR Stern Winter likewise made a last effort to improve in his Hauler Yellow Avalanche and along with CMDR Alec Turner who made a final day run in his DBX Bananery Fandango, the two both achieved a time of 17:58, tying for tenth place. There were new entries from CMDRs Raiko and Aken B., with CMDR Aken B. finishing with a time of 18:51 in his Cobra MkIII Lapse of Reason, just three seconds ahead of CMDR Raiko's Asp Explorer The Nomad, both Buckyball regulars struggling to find time to run but with good first attempts.

These leaderboards are preliminary but if no new submissions are received then they will become final at midnight. I will confirm them tomorrow and update the leaderboards then, if required.

With this race over, the next event in the schedule is Total Recall 3, which will be hosted by CMDR Bruski from Dec 14-21st 3305. We hope to see you again soon!

Fly fast! o7

Congratulations to everyone who took part! It was great to see new faces on the leaderboard and especially great to see them topping it!

I was close to being able to take the first place, but the planets/stations just didn't align for me. It was a fantastic race Edelgard, thanks a lot for organising it!

Oh and on a side note, please don't use masked swearing in your posts/. Looking at you @Skipsophrenic ;) I can't be bothered to give you a slap for it though hehe.

I have to say I spent more time racing this past week than I had planned, it's been fun. I'll post both entries in case anyone is interested (and the ship builds) even if I only see the mistakes I make :p
Thanks to everyone participating for making it the great event it was and to Edelgard in particular for organising it.

Asp: https://s.orbis.zone/53zj This is my exploration vessel, I just took the hangar bay out and put some extra fuel in so as not to have to worry about fuel at all. Less stressful than the Courier runs :p
