Star Citizen Discussion Thread v11

Have had more luck with SC after I moved the installation to a SSD. Played a bit more today and tried out the Caterpillar.

I had one of these back when I was still invested in the project. I have to say it's just as beautiful a ship as I hoped it would be back then. One of my favorites for sure. I really dig the aesthetic.

Yeah SSD is supposed to make a big difference.

Let us know when the detachable command module and tractor beam station get implemented...

(Soz, couldn't resist ;))

More planets doesn’t equal more content. SC is on par with content and will surpass them all with 3.8, especially ED.
Dear sir, you are both right and wrong. More planets does not equal more content, true. But more content equals more content. ED is vastly superior content-wise, SC will never surpass it. Especially given that Genuine Roberts promised a hundred+ of systems, not a hundred+ of content.

See what I did here? Perfectly reasoned statement, can't argue that!

I mean, just sticking within the same genre and both ED and NMS have more content than SC. Going outside the genre, there are dozens of games with more content than SC currently has.

For NMS they have base building, which is more than SC. But, it looks like a cartoon.

I never said more planets equals more content.

Ah, yes, 3.8, the new Jesus patch. Always current patch + 1 is the one that will make SC great.

And dismissing base building because of the graphics? Are we discussing content or artistic style?

Why would anyone get into an actual argument with you? You obviously know everything and have never been wrong. Sounds like a fools errand.

So why do you continue to tease and taunt then?

Lets be very clear the amount of outright shilling and fanatical blabbering the last few pages have been hard to ignore for me. I had to revert to outright NOT posting anything because I was unable to stay as polite and casual as many who did. Posts like that are basically trolling at this point and I would like to think that nobody can be THAT delusional for real now. But its annoying even if you assume its a troll post.

Baseless claims and koolaid descriptions which are for the most part dreamed up sprinkled with casual bashing of other games wont help to quell "dissent" and "show the haters". They only reinforce the belief that Star Citizen has a real problem with fanatical extremists who go to great lengths to declare dominance.

Star Citizen does have certain qualities and they cannot be denied even tho they have different values to different people. I would like to discuss that to obtain a realistic picture about the game because believe it or not, even tho I have a negative opinion about SC its still possible that I m wrong and I would actually like to find out if I m right or wrong. Some people manage to do that AND stay realistic and down-to-earth. And then you have the full-blown shills and fanatics basically preaching the coming of jesus. At some point I have to wonder if this is the SC thread or if only jokers and cheap-shot artists are left because the bestest-ever-game-making-all-other-games-obsolete-aka-MVP is a fricking joke and everybody knows it.

The amount of mindbending and phatasizing to internally justify any action we can observe is already phenomenal and the remaining hard-cores will make everything a victory by constant goalpost shifting disregarding past failures and mistakes or even lies. I m just glad that I dont talk to "those" people for the most part be

I can't wait until Star Citizen adds VR support,

You'll be happy to know that Chris Roberts himself ordered a re-prioritizing for VR support in 2016 and then again in 2017 so once we get our tier 0 time machine pipeline going back to 2016 for that, we can all enjoy the fruits of his meticulous project management.

It was nice seeing the Microsoft Flight Simulator devs listen to the niche sim freaks who love their niche VR for niche games and actually make adding VR high priority. Somehow I think they'll manage to actually do it compared to Team Hairy Roberts.

I was sold with DK2, but things are really starting to improve with headsets like the Reverb and Index for sims. Can't wait till we have the video cards to push higher res and fov, but it's been a blast all these literal YEARS enjoying it and watching the tech develop while mushmouth over there was making promises and writing checks his lack of talent couldn't cash.

At last...after sifting through a litany of boring 'Star Citizen is crap/fantastic because' posts, Jenner lights the way discussing something neutral :D

Glad it worked eventually mate, an SSD definitely helps...

The truth is your already bias, and when someone can layout a counter argument and discussion you already write them off because you didn’t receive confirmation of your bias.

It happens all the time here, as to he expected as this is frontiers forum.

But, the truth is, SC offers a more tangible experience than other games. You want to interact with your ship, you can. You want to upgrade components, see the new weapons, etc, You can. You want to see the bounty you destroyed, EVA and look, you want to see your cargo look.

NMS and ED do not offer that. They have other attributes that offer a different gaming experience. I’m sure many prefer them over SC. But, others do not. I’m in the the do not category.

No. A person can't be an indefinite noun, nor can they own an abstract cognitive process.

What experiences are those? What other games? This is not “the truth” — it's a vapid statement with nothing to back it up and many many many hours of recorded video to contradict it.

You can in fact do all those things in both NMS and ED. So much for “the truth”, huh…

Thank you for proving my points.

Thank you for proving my points.
Why are you unable to answer very simple questions? Is it because your so wedded to your confirmation bias that you write them off?

You see, the reason it happens all the time around here is because people who want to promote the supposed excellence of SC refuse to actually offer any arguments, much less any counter-arguments to the criticism levelled against the game, or to discuss the lacklustre state of the game. You proved your point yourself by exhibiting the exact behaviour you were accusing MTBFritz of.

Oh they do.
So why are they so consistently factually wrong about what those other games involve and are capable of?
