Lightspeed's post was a fairly common type of joke in the forums - "I've got a great spot and I'm not sharing!"All I am trying to find out (as I am new to this) is where VO's can be found! I have gone thru MANY pages here and mostly find wild tangents on the subject; but little real information. Thanks.

Good comeback ... gave me a laugh, +rep to youI can't find "redacted" on any star chart. Where r u?
It's not my home but I did have the chance to take some cargo there a while back. Stopped in at Vincenzo's for Italian and order their fettuccine alfredo, and it's to die for. I really liked the all you want garlic bread. All that and an realitively good wine for cheap. I'll be back again someday.Home for me is Rich Gateway, at HIP 10123. It's strategically placed for most of what I do, and it's a Tourist Orbis.
It feels really nice to come home to the sight of green trees and pretty parks after the black of space.
The restaurants are solid quality as well - I can recommend Vincenzo's for Italian; West 35 on the Main Ring just by Galaxy Park. Magnifico!![]()
Do you have a BoO? If so, where and why?
"You talk'in to me?" haha (Taxi Driver for the youngsters). Currently I'm at SHINRARTA. Was at MAIA until a mission I got fro Palin went...I don't actually know. i like the station (JAMESON MEMORIAL) as they have over 23 types ships and all modules. I REALLY want to try RATRAII (COLONIA DREAM) but damn 22 THOUSAND lys! ONE WAY. Did you guys start out over there or did you travel? Mostly want to know IF a way is possible as the map kind'a petters out and you're left to wonder.I've taken to basing myself out of Robigo for two reasons:
1. There is a very lucrative passenger route worth (for me) 10mil credits for a 12 minute round trip.
2. Void opal hotspot on (the rings) the orbiting planet.

Totally and THANK YOU VERY MUCH. In my humble opinion replies like yours should always be ranked first before the "tangents" appear. Again thanks.Lightspeed's post was a fairly common type of joke in the forums - "I've got a great spot and I'm not sharing!"
VO's can be found in many Icy rings. You need to go to IDDB.io and look for Icy, Pristine rings near you. Here's how you do it:
From the Elite Dangerous Database's home page, go to "Bodies".
Press the 'Find Bodies' button.
- In "Body Group" select "Ring".
- Under "System Reserve" select "Pristine".
- Under "Ring Type" select "Icy".
- Finally, under Reference System select the system that you're currently in.
EDDB will grind a while, then come up with the nearest icy, pristine rings - the place you want to look to find VO cores.
It looks like this:
In this case, the SYSTEM is LHS 2552 - that's the system you input into your NAV page. The system is 17.27Ly away - a decent hop for a miner - the planet you want is #6, and it's its inner ring that you want, if it has multiple rings. The planet is 1832 ls from your arrival point, a very short hop. The ring is Icy and Pristine, which is exactly what you want.

Now there is NO guarantee that there are void opals in the ring; it's just the best place to find them.
If there aren't VO hotspots when you DSS the ring, keep looking. You rarely need to check two or three rings before you find hotspots.
Hope this helps!
