❄ Planet Zoo: Arctic Pack coming 17 December ❄

Do I read this right? Over 200 new pieces AND a Mexico theme?
That's great. I was building a big aztec pyramid for my sandbox zoo. Now with the new pieces I might have to build it anew. 😅
I'm really looking forward to this DLC and the Update. 😀

No Mexico theme - it's a Scandinavian theme, there's just a scenario set in Mexico where the challenge is keeping Arctic animals in a hot climate (IMO, throws realism out the window - you can acclimate Arctic animals to warm environments (see Singapore Zoo's polar bears and such) but the chillers and perma-snow made as a result is totally bonkers).

Actually that's a point - I hope none of these animals require snow in their habitats. I'm not great at constructing huge buildings which is the only real way to have perma-snow in a zoo. I'll be happy if they're like the current timber wolves and pandas, in that snow is an addition they're happy with rather than something they absolutely need.

Now I'm kinda disappointed. But thanks for the clarification.

Thank you so much! This looks amazing! I am so, so excited. ♥ Thank you all at Frontier for your hard work. You clearly listen to your community- everything in the 1.1 patch sounds perfect, and I'm very happy to have family trees and an aging slider added in. An arctic pack just in time for the holidays is the perfect stocking stuffer, too!

Oh man. I'm gonna build Berk from How to Train your Dragon if it kills me.

I think the price is very fair - $5 makes sense for 4 animals, and $5 makes sense for a new building pack. Sticking them together works just fine for me. Looking forward to this AND the free content update!! :)
PLEASE share pics when you do!

For those of you who haven't bought the game yet, in my opinion it's good value to buy the base game and dlc. You get a lot more game content with the dlc compared to the deluxe edition. (this is assuming you have no interest in the deluxe edition animals of course)

Yeah, I'm very excited for the Reindeer (caribou), and Dall sheep. I will make a Yellowstone National Park eventually, and these two animals would make a great addition. I know the ranges of these animals don't extend to Yellowstone, but it's close enough to Big horn sheep and Elk to make me happy. I still would like a Moose though! =D

I was looking at the Yukon Valley territory in Canada, and it's gorgeous. According to what I read this territory has Moose, Gray Wolf, Grizzly Bear, Caribou, Plains Bison, Red Fox, and others. So, a Yukon Valley park could work too. Something like below would be fun to make.

Polar Bear and Reindeer are totally fine. They're different. But the Arctic Wolf is just basically a fluffy Timber Wolf with white fur that can live in snow. And the Dall Sheep is just a mountain goat with big horns. I would have swapped them for an Arctic Fox and....Either a Sea Lion or the Wolverine. Gotta add some Hugh Jackman. 🤣

The last patch seriously screwed up people's games. This arctic DLC should in fact be free as an apology for such a monumental screw-up.

The baseline isn't PlanCo - it's the amazing turnaround that Hello Games achieved with No Man's Sky

Time for other software houses to recalibrate.

I honestly stopped reporting on the issue tracker. There's no feedback whatsoever, even re bugs from Beta. If you contribute to one issue, you cannot track that. Your patch notes so far are not very detailed (or there's no detailed version; two versions the better choice imo) to see if a specifc bug has been adressed by a patch. Are there any internal plans to develop this tool further?

I totally agree and it discourages me to report any further issues. I have reported 5 issues (although 1 of them is probably more a QOL issue), none of them has been confirmed yet, all on status "Confirming". The oldest one is from Nov 25th.

I think one of the most controversal Sims DLC packs was "My First Pet". It costs £10 which is $13 USD and €11.80 according to the currency converter.

SO. Considering you get 4 HABITAT animals and 200 assets AND a huge free update £8/$10 is honestly quite cheap. Honestly I wish we got something else other than a sheep and a white wolf that can live in the arctic. Such as the Arctic Fox and Penguins.

Using one of the worst publishers in gaming history as comparison makes everybody else look like gold.

I love Frontier and the stuff they've done with Planet Coaster and now Planet Zoo, but having already spent a small fortune on the DLC for PC in the past year and the deluxe edition of PZ, I can't justify buying this so soon after release, especially with all the bugs currently still present in the game.

What would tempt me however is if the downloaded buildings and themed assets could be used in both PC and PZ. Frontier could release even release a pack with the PZ assets for PC (Basically free money for them?).

Have Frontier stated that this isn't possible or could this be a possibility in the future?

That was kinda my point. 😂 Showing how a bigger franchise really takes advantage of how popular it is and over charges players...Compared to a smaller (compared to EA) but also big franchise who from what I've experienced, cares about the players and how much they're charging. If we're just talking about money that is.

That sounds great but I`m hoping for a little bit more because in the artic are living over 75 animals not only 4 ;) But we don`t have to pay always 10 Euro for 4 more animals in the future, right? Now one thing would be perfect: a big DLC for all the Planco fans for christmas with 5 kiddie rides, 5 other rides and 200-300 new Scenery pieces, walls etc
A Western Set 2.0 with indians would be also great and at least please please a shuttle function for the transport rides and a railroad crossing, also for Planet Zoo...

Please give us new "feed" so that we can continue playing Planet Coaster, don`t forget the game
