Worried about future DLCs and the paid content we will be getting

So it seems like everyone is dissapointed in the new DLC. Mainly because it contains only 4 animals and one of them is an obvious reskin the animals that are in the DLC are not bad but if we get a DLC once every 3 months with 4 animals that means we are getting only 16 animals a year and im sure most people dont want that. my suggestion is that Frontier makes the packs cheaper or they add more animals to them not just building assets or campaign levels.

There is a huge player base that is excited and not disapointed in the slightest. Most of them realize, that there is more to the DLC than 4 animals. And as much as I would love a DLC every month, with 4 fleshed out animals AND building pieces: We won't get one every month. I am absolutely sure about that.
We are close to christmas. And everycompany that isn't releasing something new for christmas is missing out on huge income. That's why we get the DLC now and not in january or after christmas.

they dont have to add new building pieces nor campaign levels they can just drop animals packs like JWE 16 animals a year seems low and not just to me both discord servers are going crazy because of that, the DLC is really good but people want more animals thats the main reason people bought this game in the first place

Not sure where you're getting the idea that everyone is disappointed with the DLC. Of course not everyone on the forums is ecstatic but the general impression I'm getting is pretty positive. Personally I'm quite happy with 4 animals every quarter or so (assuming that's how many DLC are likely), we already have 50 right now.

Don’t know if you are familiar with the sims 4 but think about how their dlcs work. You have small stuff pack, decent sized game packs and then big expansion. I’m not an expert when it comes to frontier way of flashing out dlcs, but honestly this is a fairly nice pack regarding the size. We had the game for a little other a month and we are getting a new dlc with manu building pieces and 4 new habitat animals. That’s good, very good! We will for sure get packs that are bigger, like aquatic dlc, South American dlc, Aussie dlc, and those will probably be bigger. I’ve never played Planco so this is my first experience with frontier and honestly they are doing amazing. They are involved in the community, they are fixing things pretty quickly and they have already one new dlc realising. I think we can just expect big things. If you really want to be disappointed go and check how the sims 4 is doing it’s marketing and it’s pricing for rubbish game and expansion packs 😂

im not worried about that DLC im worried about the future dlcs this one DLC is really good but people are worried we are getting only 16 animals a year and if the game has a 3,4 year support that means we probably wont get most unique animals

I’m sure that this game will have a longer life span than 3 years and I’m also sure they will add cool animals that people will enjoy. Obviously you can’t make everyone happy and there are many animals that are being asked that don’t really fit in zoos(killer whales and whales for example, is absolutely horrible to keep them in tanks), animals that are so rare that probably is hard to even research on how they move, interact with each other and behave, and extinct animals that again, don’t really fit into a modern zoo. But I’m sure that the famous animals that are still missing, I’m thinking about meerkats for example, will be added on. I’m really hoping for otters at some point cause they are my favourite animal but I will understand if they will never make it to the game because of their swimming or whatever other reason...it’s still a videogame, it can’t be limitless.

Honestly, on this you have to speak for yourself and only for yourself. I am very much looking forward to new building pieces, want and need them. The creative part of Planet Zoo is important to me. I don't care about career mode at all, but others do and they deserve to be catered as well.

I also do not think we will get 16 animals a year. If people really want fleshed out animals that behave realistic and are unique, it takes time and 16 fleshed out animals a year won't be possible.

What I hope is, that we will get biggerDLCs as well with more animals, more building pieces and a higher price. Some topics are better in larger packs, in my opinion.

The issue about the numbers of animals in DLC parallels the number of ships in Elite, it's a contentious issue, some people will always want moar no matter how many are added.

Personally I prefer quality rather than quantity, and as several posters have noted the developers have to cater to all tastes and someone is always going to be disappointed.

Please don't use the word "everyone" when it is not really possible for you to know what "everyone" wants. Since I am part of "everyone" and I am super happy and excited to play with this DLC. It has a lot of content for 10 dollars that caters to almost every kind of player. More animals, more building pieces, more scenarios, etc. Not to mention the free update that everyone is going to have access to.

If you don't like the price, wait to buy it on sale or not at all. Its your choice. But please don't try to speak for "everyone".

...but if we get a DLC once every 3 months with 4 animals that means we are getting only 16 animals a year.

I think its more likely that we'll get a small DLC 3 times a year (with ~4 animals, scenery etc.) and a larger expansion pack with new game features (things like aquaria, aviaries, educators) and more animals once per year.

Well, for some people, the glass is always half empty, and some people don’t even like the sight of the ”half empty” glass and toss out all the water because they’d rather look at a completely empty glass and feel bad.

Why are you ”worried” about things you don’t even know if or not they will happen and in which form they will happen? Just be happy that we already have so many animals, will get four more plus another theme for building plus two more challenging career chapters. That’s quite a lot! And that so short after the release.

People always compare PZ with Zoo Tycoon and the many animals we got there. Yes, but the original game had only 30 animals, and each addition was an expensive expansion pack. I don’t remember how much time passed between each new release, but the expansions definitely didn’t pop out one after the other like warthog piglets or peacock chicks.

So we already have a good head start (I haven’t even made habitats with all of the animals) and so many more animals to look forward to. I don’t care when we will get them, but I know that I will appreciate new animals, themes and career mode stories when we’ll get them.

It’s your choice if you want to be happy or have too high expectations and keep getting disappointed and complaining about it. I’d rather be happy, and I can’t wait for Tuesday to build a tundra zoo!

BuLgi, perhaps we will be getting two types of DLC's, ones with more varied content/themes but less animals, and then pure animal packs. I guess time will tell.

THAT is an awesome scenario I'd love and the absolute perfect content strategy!

Oh, phew, good, I'm not the only one. Actually, it's a little embarrassing what few species I already played with. First off, I am in the annoying situation that I have to work and earn money to support my living and then... as much as it surprises even myself... I'm a builder. I spent most of my time in pause mode, build "beautiful" habitats and scenery, plop animals down, hit play for 5 minutes, pause, build. :D

I'm going to throw in that I'm one of the people pleased they are releasing new scenarios. I wasn't expecting them so soon given they require more than a new map because of the story driven elements (unlike planco). I finished the campaign a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it so I'm pleased.

I would probably wait for a sale, or discount on a pack of DLCs

And also participate in their giveaways, if Santa wishes it, I might win the DLC for free.

Anyway the DLC is very exciting, it might include all the ice burgs and frozen lakes that I wanted so badly.

Tbh, i was expecting less for 10,- (just animals)

I'm more confused about the everyone part.. I feel that the majority/everyone is just being used to overdramatise their point.

You can count me in that lot and I think it's not that rare actually.

Buigi, you're paying for quite a bit more than 4 animals. You're also getting 2 scenarios and 200 building pieces.
Whether you like them or not not, the price tag is paying for those assets as well, not just the animals.
Remember to look at the bigger picture of things.
