Frontier really drop the ball on planet zoo

I hardly think Frontier expects every single customer of Planet Zoo to buy this DLC :)
That was'nt the point. Its more about, what CM's think about the buyers from Planet Zoo.
not everyone is aware of the difference between updates and DLC
From my site it looks like Frontier does'nt know the difference between beta, early access and release version. And also they do'nt understand, that we have a contract, not a special friendship. They have the product and i pay for it. It does'nt matter what's the difference between updates and DLC in this case. They have to make sure, that the product is running..

I have a lightning "bug" too. When I placed down a education monitor in my zoo, the game becomes suddenly very dark (darker then game night time). The brightness comes back to normal a few seconds later - but you can't see anything while the darkness occures. For me it just happens with the education boards and nothing else.

I don’t think this is a bug. You get a similar effect when switching from a rather dark into a bright environment and is most likely an attempt to recreate a ”realistic” effect of the camera sensor’s exposure adustment (or the human eye?). The heatmap is very bright - exposure is reduced. Switch to the normal darker environment - initial underexposure until the ”camera” has adjusted. If you emerge from the inside of a cave, for example, into bright daylight, you get the opposite effect, everything is overexposed, until the exposure is adjusted.

But I agree, it is not particularly fun or useful having to wait for two seconds before you can see anything again.

Caveat emptor, my friend, the onus is on you. They don't have to do anything, they've got your money. If you don't like what you got for your money, don't give them anymore, it's that simple.

Frontier really drop the ball on [insert favorite Frontier game].

For me, it's Elite Dangerous. So close, yet so far away...

They seem to drop the ball quite frequently on most of their games. Wait till the update start breaking the game every time I get one. Obviously I'm exaggerating but I think you'll see what I'm talkin about sooner or later

I expect something different. Its named Quality 😉😁 But maybe im outdated..

Yes, you are. In case you haven't heard, the real name of the actual game is capitalism and money is the only thing that matters. Now, that said, providing quality can certainly help bring in more money and keep it coming in. However, precedent shows that getting the money coming in before the quality works, so that's what will happen. As long as people are willing to pre-order the quality can come later.

I don't think that Frontier is any worse than any other company that produces triple-A games. Dealing with bugs in the early days seems to be par for the course these days. I suspect that the best time to buy a new game is about 3 months after it releases. But as long as people are willing to preorder - there is no onus on them to change anything.

If everything is only about capitalism and money, what are we talking about? That means im 100% right and as a customer we should not expect quality, we should demand it. That's our right as a buyer. Also you are right if you say "just dont spend your money" - but million others will do, because they do not think about quality. Its sad but true - buying games is actually like shoping on Wish/Alibaba. You will never be sure, what you get..

You are 100% right, pre-ordering games is a crap-shoot. However, if you wait until the game is released and then go to their forums and see what people think, watch a few videos by people who are unbiased, then you have a much better idea of what you're getting into before you hand over your money. You have the right to demand quality all you want but unless it affects the company's bottom line there is no reason for them to give it. As you said, millions of others support the way it is now, so what are the chances of that changing? Personally, at this point, I don't think it's really safe to buy a game until it's been released for 3 months. But we're all here anyway. Righteous indignation sure is fun, 'aint it? :)

I always questioned why EA is still around. This must be the reason....

Game companies hire hype teams to get the gamers worked up early so they will be duped into buying their game months before it's released and then deliver before the game is properly finished. Sounds pretty sinister, hey? Nope, it's called marketing and it is the way of the world today. As long as gamers are lining up to give them their pre-order money nothing will change. It's too easy for them because we WANT to be excited about a new game, even if our excitement isn't realistic, even if nothing could live up to our over-hyped expectations because the only thing more fun than that kind of excitement is the righteous indignation we get to play when we are somehow surprised on launch day :)

Honestly, how can you still get excited about receiving the same game (only add a different year to it) (*FIFA, NBA, Battlefield) every year. And other publishers (Ubisoft) are no different.

I can sincerely understand people being dissapointed about certain bugs and/or features missing. But at least Frontier is trying to publish a original game, while other publishers just keep on making the same ....

(this is just a general remark from my side, nothing particularly to do with your post.)

You make my point exactly - we WANT that excitement so much we'll place it anywhere we can. Anything new in a game we love is good enough reason. Any game company would be stupid not to capitalize on that. Frontier is not a bad company at all, Planet Zoo is an amazing game that still has a few bugs in it. I know I'm going to play the heck out of it this winter :)

Me too. I'm recreating my local zoo. So far so good.
