Well I got 29m for top 10%...not sure how big a pile that is or how much it weighs but Ill take it and run in case they change their minds

Total of about 32M cr; just shy of 23M as reward and about 10 in bounties. I have to say that was a very enjoyable CG.
I'd originally played around in the two RES's and the CZ's, then discovered that Heavy Hauler was in a conflict zone. Fighting off pirates was WAAAAY too much fun - until one mission when I got separated and set on by an Anaconda, 2 Pythons and a Krait II. Shields down, all SCB's popped, out of sinks; hull down to 86%. I raced like blazes out of there and took 'em on one by one - Krait popped right away, I traded back and forth with the Pythons until the Connie lumbered up, displaced, popped one Python, ran again, popped the other then led the Connie back to green blips and finished her off with help. Hull down to 21% and giggling like a loon as I returned to Davis.
That was a fun CG!

I absolutely love these bounty CGs. Does FDev ever use these to have us go into CZs?
Is the lower participation from the last one due to the fact that this was Alliance and not Fed/Empire?

Game barely warrants a look these days.
I meant to do the bounty hunting entirely in the frag Cobra - would have succeeded except for the NPC pirate who interdicted my T9 doing a run for the trade CG. But I pulled in a solid couple mil in bounties without even leaving the system, just doing defense scenarios at the local megaship and installations.
This was, incidentally, the first time I've done one of those scenarios since I finally got my HOTAS and Rift set up and working at the same time. Delicious experience!
Participation varies for all kinds of reasons, it could be because there wasn’t a Haz RES in the system.
Protecting the hauler turned out to be WONDERFUL fun though.
A cool 1.5M in bounties per sortie and a varied, interesting fighting experience. Ive barely played Elite this year so cant quite remember when they discontinued the weekly CGs (I think it might have been March), but yeah some time prior to 9 months or maybe a year ago they used to be weekly. Some times there wouldnt be a bounty hunting CG for a week or two (rarely 3 weeks without a bounty CG) and it would be trade only (or science/eng materials delivery or something else), but generally around 3 weeks each month there'd be bounty or CZ community goal available to participate in.
Its a shame they stopped happening regularly as they were pretty much what kept all my mates playing. Wing up with some friends, drink beer, and talk crap over party chat while lazily blasting npcs in overpowered ships. Once bounty CGs became a rare thing, most of my mates stopped playing. This CG was my first since February, and the player base around Australia these days must be near nonexistent. I saw one other cmdr (twice) the whole week.
