I care to disagree.
the graphic in space is less than mediocre and this is a "space" game after all.
90% of the time I'm not looking at pretty blackness with dots in it anyway...most of what I see is this..

Then a bit of this...

Or maybe some of this perhaps.

Nobody really cares how pretty 'space' looks in SC...since there's not a lot of it to look at nor any real point in hanging around looking at it.

Well, its a good job they didn't call it Space Citizen then :D

They nailed it with Star Citizen though. One game, one star :D

Wow, another person who had low exepctations of Elite! :D

EDIT: Hah, you said it yourself in a later post. So, low expectations failed to be met but low expectations found in SC.

Best Damn Space Sim Ever!

PC gaming is saved!
Well having high expectations for both of them would of been dissapointing. They are both shallow as a puddle XD

Funny that that one star gives more to the game than ED can lol

Forgetting for a moment the Alpha state, let's take mining. Hell, let's take the ability to wake up in bed, recall a ship, run to the hangar, start up, take off, land planet-side and explore and mine a cave. Get back into ship, go to space-port, get off ship, sell commodities and profit!

Or back to mining with the Argo MOLE........

Forget for a moment the myriad of other gameplay activities such as the 890 mission which starts as space combat and ends with FPS battle on board a space-ship.

That right there is more than Elite will EVER have and more. And that is but the very start of things to come.

Yes, you might be right that there is technically one star. There is however objectively at this early stage much, much more substantive stuff to do in Star Citizen than in Elite with that one star. That is an objective fact. If one cannot see that then it's quite obviously a case of jealousy and/or ignorance impairing one's ability to remain objective.

Hell, even exploring the one system with it's incredible diversity of moons ands planets and their attendant biomes is more satisfying than exploring 4 billion systems of the same thing.

ED = A MILE WIDE AND AN INCH DEEP: Always has been and always will be and that's obviously OK for some. Good on them.

SC = A MILE WIDE AND A MILE DEEP. At this Alpha stage. And it's only going to get much, much WIDER.

Guess which one I prefer.

There were a lot of amusing things in that post, but this was definitely the best...

:D

Yep.

Even at this early stage there is more to SC than Elite.

Objective fact.

If you want to disagree then take my mining example and compare the two gameplay mechanics, objectively, and tell me which one is better.

Go on.

How much $ have you put into SC?

$45 dollars gets everyone the EXACT same experience that I am currently enjoying.

Imagine that eh?

And the amount of money that I have pledged towards the development of the game is irrelevant. I am in a very fortunate position in that money means nothing to me. Nothing. So whatever amount I have pledged (I honestly caNnot tell you off the top of my head) does not influence my ability to remain objective at all, not in the slightest.

If I thought that the mining gameplay mechanic in Elite is superior to SC then I would have stated that.

But hell man, you gotta be blind or wilfully ignorant to think that ED is better than SC at that. And so it will be with all the other gameplay mechanics being added. It's just a matter of time.

Mile Deep, Mile Wide - that's where we are heading with SC.

show me the AWACS gameplay and information running gameplay that were sold with certain ships since 2013.

Star Citizen: It's just a matter of time.

(For future archivists looking back at when the Kickstarter ended, this post was made in 2019.)

How about we compare what is there, today.

Go on.

Tell me ED is better at visuals, at the ability to walk around your ship, at the ability to land planetside, get out and explore on foot..........

Tell me ED is better at mining.

And don't forget to tell me HOW ED is better at these mechanics, in your opinion, of course.

Go on.

Ps: It's not the thirtd time I ask this question - wonder why it's being ignored all the time.......

And there are plenty of things Elite is better at.

Like really whoopiedoo.... damn this 'my game is better than your game' nonsense....

Unfortunately, what ED may or may not do doesn't make Star Citizen more complete, even by the standards of it's initial (and more manageable - under most developers) scope.

The ability to walk around is great, provided there's a reason to walk around other than staring at things and taking all the things that might someday fill that emptiness.
