It doesnt matter. You could land like on that reddit post, the game allows that, and it's what starts to happen when you get tired of role playing and want to get money a bit faster through space trucking for example (requires a lot of landing in various places..). The fact is, the flight model is exactly like that and it's sad for the "BDSSE".I actually don't land like that Reddit post, but then again I'm not using a mouse and keyboard and use the throttle control so landing is very smooth.
The trick to dealing with people who try to compare SC with ED is to say ED is really rubbish. I mean really really rubbish. Horace going skiing is better than ED.
Then it makes them look like they are claiming SC is better than Horace Goes Skiing. Which is rather funny.
Also, in completely unrelated news, quite enjoying The Witcher TV series. Was worried Henry Cavil would suck in the role, but pleasantly surprised.
Have to say, its better than Coupling season 4.
So basically the same way when I land in Elite like that?It doesnt matter. You could land like on that reddit post, the game allows that, and it's what starts to happen when you get tired of role playing and want to get money a bit faster through space trucking for example (requires a lot of landing in various places..). The fact is, the flight model is exactly like that and it's sad for the "BDSSE".
It's exactly like the mouse wheel for walking slower so you character can move like a human being. It's roleplay, pretending. Once you get tired of everyone running at Benny Hill accelerated pace around you, you scroll up and move like that too.
If you mean the Elite on C64, probably.. Starting with Elite II the game had 2nd order movement and newtonian physics. All of that is missing from SC hence the "dragging assets" kind of movement you can see in game..So basically the same way when I land in Elite like that?
Yeah, no. That's just citizens. Chris Roberts could release a fart and they would stand and cheer.CIG has a way of catching lightning in a bottle
While pledges increased year-on-year by 20.3% ($43,438,215), the accounts only increased by 11.5% (253,788).
Of the 253,788 new accounts, if all of them (unlikely) were new pledgers buying $60 starter packs (e.g. Aurora/Mustang + Sq42) it would have brought in $15,227,280, a shortfall of $28,210,935.
Ship-sales and farming the current backer-base for more pledges (whale-fracking?) remain the funding lifeblood of the project.
OT: Polish is hard so I red some of the Witcher literature in English (there is a lot of it). From what I remember of the books the show has managed to very elegantly capture this very special blend of dystopian fantasy and gritty fairy tales really well.
I mean Elite: Dangerous. I haven't seen "asset sliding" in SC yet. But then again I just started playing. You can't instantly stop. I sometimes overshoot a station trying to stop at 1,200m/s even with the 'x' break on.If you mean the Elite on C64, probably.. Starting with Elite II the game had 2nd order movement and newtonian physics. All of that is missing from SC hence the "dragging assets" kind of movement you can see in game..
Never been done before? You have to admit that a company actively leveraging sunk cost fallacy as their primary source of funding is a novel approach to business.
Looks like you caused a "Miner Inconvenience..."
It's really not. Pretty common actually. "We haven't quite made it so we need this extra bit of funding to ramp up production."You have to admit that a company actively leveraging sunk cost fallacy as their primary source of funding is a novel approach to business.
No because it wasn't a brand new post with the out of context picture, it was part of a reply chain which has a context. That's only fair since you took the quote itself out of context. Hence the quote mining. And no, that's not the same as a strawman.
Where did I protect SC?FD said they had enough ideas to keep development going for at least 10 years. This did not mean they would keep it in development for 10 years or more or less. Just a statement about how much content they could add based on their ideas and how long they thought it might take.
CIG on the other hand had a kickstarter for a game that would keep them in development for 5-6 years at least (but CR said they could do in 2 or 3, but he absolved himself of that), then expanded the scope through their own site's stretch goals, adding promises of content that would keep them in development for well over 10 years (but kept promising that release was just around the corner, but CR absoloved himself of that), then they unilaterally (without backer vote) expanded the scope time and again to eventually have promised a game that would take a competent dev team over 20 years to deliver and perhaps a billion dollars to make (while saying that release is just around the corner, but CR has absoloved himself of that).
I'm kind of confused by your posts though. I mean, you seem to be defending SC hard while saying you don't care about it, and bashing ED hard at the same time, as though bashing ED somehow absolves SC of all its issues.
If you want to bash ED, there is a whole forum dedicated to it, and many people who will agree with you on its issues.
This is the SC sub though, where we get to bash on (or in some peoples cases talk positively about) SC.
…and the quote is still out of context. Being a “brand new post” or being part of a reply change does not alter the quote or its (lack of) context. No because it wasn't a brand new post with the out of context picture
