Have your buying behaviours changed since Arx?

or there isn't. i know that fp2 models work, i'm fine with they existing as long as it's not me who 'contributes', but happily there's enough hamsters people who do. i have never felt obliged in the slightest, i can't be tempted with fancy crap and get a free game (if it's any good) so what's not to like.

that the game isn't up to par while wasting time on this crap, that's not to like. i gladly paid for the game. i'd pay even more. i even 'supported' it buying some of this junk in the past. nevermind. yet i have to wait while a greedy growing company is busy adjusting their own cash cow and doing the same to all of their other tentacles as well, all of which is completely irrelevant to me or my experience in the game. a game which has meanwhile languished for 3 years already. merry 2021! \o/
Got to love it - oh this game is now a cash cow because of Arx.

Hmm so why are FD giving away free Arx, and free paint jobs, decals and the like? And why are a lot of the paint jobs actually CHEAPER now, surely they would be costing three, four, five times more under the new system.

If FD was really only after every last cent it can wring out of all it's players, there would be ships for sale, weapons for sale, credits for sale ….

You misinterpret :)

I’m forced to not want to buy because I can’t buy with the real money.
No you said, and I quote "If I don't want to buy", that would mean, quite simply, you do not wish to purchase something. No ambiguity, no misinterpretation, just stating a simple fact.

Cosmetics were always the plan rather than a sub. For people like you and me who never buy cosmetics its a gain any way you look at it. I don't understand why you'd disapprove of FDEV continuing to fund the game the way they always have (and said they would) given it doesn't and wont cost you a single penny unless you choose to opt in.

Them keeping their word and not charging you a penny seems a very odd thing to object to.

It is a error o f formulation, I am French and my English is very bad. But I corrected.

Don't be sectarian, you understood very well what I said now.

:)

You do not understand.

I cannot buy with real money, the exact amount of what I buy.
Is that what has your knickers in a twist, that you have to buy a package? Oh dear, can you show me all the posts where you complained and complained and complained about having to buy a pack of paint jobs when you only wanted one of them?

Seriously, this is just beginning to border on the ludicrous !

well, cash-cow oriented features have been the news these years: consoles, beginner areas, new skin platforms (aka ships), grinding excuses to keep people online (showing off skins, of course). that's impressive development right there, i'm amazed.

no, wait, when i was amazed was when elite first released. it blew my mind. and then when landable planets appeared the few bits of my mind left intact blew too. but that was 3 years ago.

so, yes, they've been cash-cowing for 3 years. if you're happy with what they have produced these 3 years then by all means go and feed them some cash ... a few years more? be my guest. i'll wait to see if there is something actually worth. i know they can.

ARX are worth whatever you think they are worth. The exchange rate isn't hard to calculate and the freebies drop the price of whatever you are after so if you want to buy stuff and a few pennies matter then work it out and decide where your personal spending ceiling is for whatever your combination of stuff is bear in mind you can get extra's by going over in bulk.

For me video game cosmetics are worth nothing at all which is why I've only ever gone with the free stuff. A couple of free skins this morning and funky green lasers a few days ago.

Not ridiculous, it is not the question of money but a question of principle.

I don't see why I must to give money that I don't use.

i don't really object? speaking out my mind. i'm rather sad that this model doesn't really expand the game in the way a big update like horizons did. but all this is just gossip, right?

I don't agree with the principle that we are forced to buy a minimum amount.

If I only want to spend 2 dollars, I don't see why I must give 5 dollars.

Its a continuation of the pre-launch announced ongoing funding method that was an alternative to a sub. It isn't and never was a gameplay mechanic.

If your complaint is "gah I'm somewhat impatient for new content" then I'm not sure what it has to do with ARX.

You don't have to give any dollars at all.
