When is VOID OPAL nerf coming?

FDev stated that they had no intention of nerfing mining. Things can change so who knows :)
As far as logic goes. The trade system in ED has never been anything close to logical.
Now, trading goods such as Void Opals is more realistic; markets can still offer a high buy price, but they will offer less as demand is met. As part of this change, these high-end minerals will now be demanded more by specific economy types. This change will affect the following commodities:
  • Alexandrite
  • Benitoite
  • Grandidierite
  • Low Temperature Diamond
  • Monazite
  • Musgravite
  • Painite
  • Rhodplumsite
  • Serendibite
  • Void Opal

If by 'nerf' you mean players actually have to put some effort into finding good markets to sell, and those markets are logical, then you'll have to wait till late Jan, a bit earlier hopefully.
This one. Prices aren't being nerfed, they're just going to adjust to demand like they should.

Almost everything in ED trade is unresponsive to demand or any sense of logic, so, as soon as you single out one item to react to demand ..... its a nerf.

Wrong. All items react to demand, and it can create or destroy certain trade routes, independent of state effects. The difference between selling to high and low demand can be up to 75% of profit margins. And of you bought from low supply, expect a loss.

Core minerals just don't demonstrate a proportional adjustment.

Slightly off topic, does anyone know why bulk tax seems to have no effect on Painite and Void opal sales for large freighters?

Considering the amount of time it takes to farm these, it would make mining nit worth it again.

I mean, if you've done any deep core mining, its not like the spawn rate of void opal core asteroids is badly out of whack. It takes a while to find good yields, a while to mine the yields, a time to collect the yields and time to haul the yields to a station for sale. Having done this myself, I don't feel there is any real need to adjust this process to be even more time consuming than it is. Especially if you did all of that in Open, as I did ..

So that kinda makes me wonder why, if there was any desire to change the buy price of Void Opals, some junior intern hasn't just changed an integer value in a SQL table already?

The BGS and markets in particular will all be dynamically adjustable? If they aren't being adjusted, after all this time, then presumably its by design..

IMO they should just nerf everything:
  • deep core mining or mining in general (getting billions of credits in just 1 day is lame)
  • reputation farming (just hop between 2 stations/systems and get max rank in 1-2 days)
  • solo play log off and back in on one spot farming for literly everything (materials, data etc.) and then just simply trade for what you realy need, wow, what a challenge...
  • farming guardian modules is a joke too, get all modules in 1-2 days.
  • and so on...

Might as well just disable 99.9% of the entire available universe, you don't realy need to explore, jump arround much to get everything.

Not realy sure what has happened, but this game became way too meaningless now.
You don't realy have to grind anymore, you can pretty much finish all serious grinds in just 1-2 weeks.
With all theese possible cheasy mechanics they implement they effectively have made 95%+ of the content meaningless now.

Nerf everything!
