Galaxy centre fixed?

Does anyone know if these two issues are fixed while at the centre? The first one is the sky box with all the stars getting rendered on one side and the other is the game freezing for a moment every minute or so and gets more exaggerated the closer you are to the centre. The latter is dangerous when flying close to a planets surface and as a result i have stayed away from the galaxy centre since the mining CG there.
This is the most interesting thing i found out in the Formidine Rift and i was going to try the centre again. It kinda looks like Australasia - or am i too long in deep space?

Supposedly the star rendering issue was fixed, yes. You'll still see walls of stars in places, due to sectors containing large numbers of bright blue stars sitting adjacent to sectors that don't. So you'll still see cubes of stars because that's what is actually there.

No idea about the stuttering. I haven't heard of that one.

The skybox didn't really bother me, it just looks odd. The game freeze starts at about 7000LY from the centre and gets worse the closer you get. There was a thread about it and i even reported it as an issue. There were other commanders getting the same effect.

First time I've heard about that stuttering, and never experienced it myself, despite having flown to and through the core relatively recently. (Two months ago, I think?) Is it perhaps an issue on low-end hardware, or on consoles?

Just left the center and never noticed it, I don't know if it may be hardware related but it certainly didn't affect my game.

As for the White Spot Planet, it's presumably the planet's ice-covered pole. As for the resemblance to Australia, well.. maybe from a West Australian's viewpoint, perhaps...

if it is it appears to be a mirror image, the fat side should be the east coast.

i'll

i don't think it's my PC, because i was at Sagittarius A* on my first trip out and i didn't notice it then. i am running an AMD-8350 (8-core 4GHz) with an RX480 and 16GB RAM. Since no one else is seeing it, i'll venture back in again soon.

I've encountered such issues (stuttering in strange moments) twice and in both cases purging and reinstalling the game helped. No idea why it helps but it helps. :)

i am < 5000LY from the galactic centre and the game is freezing as it was since chapter 4 dropped! i find it hard to believe that this error has been ignored for so long. There were extensive posts on the issue tracker site about this intermittent freeze that gets exaggerated the closer you are to the galactic centre, but i cannot find any! Is there anyone out there that knows about this bug and have Frontier responded about it?

I have been kicking around Sag A* since before the patch dropped and haven't encountered anything that makes me sit up and take notice.

Can we have a but more detail on the "freezing" statement, what exactly do you mean by "freezing."

it freezes at 40", 1'24" and 1'49". i am currently about 4500LY from Sagittarius A* and this freeze gets more frequent and pronounced the closer you are to the centre. This only starts once you are <7000LY-ish from the centre. i noticed this last spring sometime and when i looked into it i found others had noticed this as well. So i figured explore further out and let FDev fix it.

It doesn't look like it's ED-related to me. Too random, I would say. What is your hardware? Would you try to have an eye on Task Manager while playing to see if some other process eats the power of your computer when the game freezes?

Same here,, is it possible a virus scanner or some similar "always running" software may be causing the issue?

This does not happen once i am away from the galactic centre.

i am using AMD FX8350 CPU with AMD RX 480 GPU. 16GB RAM on win7

EDIT: i have been watching the task manager and while Elite is running it is top CPU usage between 25%/35%. When these freezes happen that drops 10%, but nothing pops up the list taking CPU load.

The thing is there's no difference being in a system in the galactic center or at the edge of the galaxy, the size of the system may increase the load slightly but other than that there shouldn't really be any difference.

Well that is what i think as well.
Very bizarre. It might be time to open a support ticket and see if FDev has encountered this.
i added my contribution to a report on this over 9 months ago. i cannot find it now. i have submitted a new report on it and noticed that there are 2 other reports on the mini freeze while jumping systems - which i also notice (but did not consider it enough of a problem to submit an error about it). The problem is that these reports are last October, so like mine it will go ignored.
