ANNOUNCEMENT Happy Holidays! Thanks for a great 3305

every time I watch Chris Roberts streams I learn something new about developing star citizen. and ... what do I learn about developing the elite from fdev streams? nothing :)
Granted... but Elite: Dangerous was actually released (even if you dislike it so) in 2014 - while promises of Star Citizens imminent release continue to this day... I guess it makes sense to talk a lot about vapourware...

in this case, the “release” is a pure formality, since the elite is in the same unfinished state as star citizen. it will be possible to say about the completeness of the elite and star citizen when the developers themselves say "here we are, we are done. there will be no new work"
It depends on viewpoint, doesn't it - one game is in permanent Alpha (to date) the other has been played for many years by many players...
Is it so odd that I see ED as a full game that has been playable for around 3,000 hours with few issues (ignoring the obvious patch errors) against the promises of "cake tomorrow"?

discovery scanner? those discovery scanners that go out once every 6 months and which describe in detail the work of long-standing mechanics? I already saw these Discovery scanner. all this is of course very interesting, but nothing new for me in them. maybe you have a Discovery scanner that describes the mechanics, content and gameplay of their "new era"? give a link to it, please :)
There have been seven Discovery Scanners since Nov 2017 (average of one every four months):

This month we get the January bug fix update (including respawning crew members), then Fleet Carriers in Q2, followed by details of New Era in Summer in advance of the Q4 launch.

Fleet Carriers were postponed to Q2 2020; FDev will begin demonstrating their gameplay a few months before they arrive (probably March/April)

Let's certainly hope so, although I wouldn't be surprised to see carriers slip into the New Era at the end of the year instead. Or even back to early 2021.

I always remember the faces of devs who can speak about what they have been working on after being locked away. If anything Frontier, make them happy by freeing them making us happy making you happy so we are all happy being happy.

fine, that is, it turns out you deliberately misled your community with regards to today's stream without transferring a new offer to a new line? and after that, in 17 days they didn’t even bother to fix it? let me show you how to do it right?

"We are looking forward to the year 3306, with the introduction of the long-awaited Fleet Carriers and more details about what's in store for the future of Elite Dangerous!

Join us for our first Let's Play livestream on the 6 January at 12:00 (UTC) on YouTube, Twitch and Mixer. We'll see you there!"

Here, let me rewrite it for you to be more clear:

In addition, there have been a number of very good, detailed sessions on the design and implementation of Elite Dangerous since it was first released. There's a list here:

In particular, the "From 0 to 60 Million Player Hours in 400 Billion Star Systems" video is excellent:

I am sure Frontier will announce something when they have something definite to announce.

It doesn't make sense announcing features which may get pulled closer to the time due to unforeseen circumstances.
