Star Citizen Discussion Thread v11

Stats are good, so much so that someone wants it nerfed before it even hit the live servers. Reminds me of the nerf Conda threads that pop up in Dangerous Discussion from time to time.

It is because it's a jack-of-trades that makes it similar to the Anaconda, unlike the Anaconda the Carrack lacks a bit in dps for its size. I mean a fuel tanker like the Starfarer Gemini has a size 5 turret and four pilot controlled size 4 guns. Gatlings look impressive though, I don't think they exist in size 5 yet.

The Pisces Expedition upgrade was $20, warbond only. Old backers with store credit to spend can f right off. Wouldn't surprise me if the Expedition skin was warbond only as well.
It's not...new prices are up on the web site as well as the new upgrade options and exploration packs...

Upgrading the peasant canoe Carrack to expedition version with C8X Pisces was $45...I had a standalone C8X which I melted then upgraded the Carrack and contained Pisces to the Disney snow-white edition for $0.00. Prices have also gone up...now $600 for a base Carrack. Just as well I bought mine when it was only $300.

New 3.8.2 patch has also gone live... not downloadable yet, but soon™...err...just gone to live download as I typed that

$600? Nice. It means I have the store credit for a new Jpeg in addition to the peasant canoe Carrack.

They kinda do already. Ships are despawned from hangars after a seemingly random timer (had one despawned right when i was climbing into it). Typical bugs aside, the mechanism is exactly the same.

They despawn after some time since the beginning. But if you have 50 ships and they all want to Land at the same time on PO / Levski for example and all players want to stay inside the ship it won’t work.

There's nothing wrong, inherently, with supporting a hobby you enjoy with a lot of money. My camera cost me $1400. My gaming rig was four figures as well.

The thing is... my Camera works out of the box and a world exists for me to snap photos of. My gaming rig gives me access to a wide range of games to enjoy. I would never decry people for buying a $600 spaceship in a game that was established, enjoyable, and balanced around a world of earn-able and paid ships even though I can't see myself dropping that many dollareedoos on such a macrotransaction. I like elite, for example, but I don't like elite for $800, and don't see myself getting $800 worth of enjoyment out of it in the long run atm. That could change in the future, sure.

Star Citizen, however, is so catastrophically broken and incomplete that I personally cannot fathom finding $600 of value in it, let alone $600 of future-not-in-the-game-yet-but-it-will-be-I-promise value when the devs have not demonstrated their ability to establish that value in the short or long term. As such, I find it baffling not that people would spend $600 on any game asset, but that someone would spend $600 on such a shaky foundation of a game and an asset as there's far too many unknowns there.

I didn't start off with a fourteen hundred dollar camera, I started out with a $30 point and shoot and worked my way up when I established I could derive that much enjoyment out of it through consistent results and constant improvement.
