The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt

God I hope it wont be an MMO based thing. That format takes the life out of series.

I also happen to think any further game will put you in the shoes of a Witcher in training like you say rootsrat

I agree that a game situated in the "golden era" of witchers would be awesome and would probably make most sense.

On the other hand - I would LOVE to continue the current chain and playing the next game as Ciri, exploring Kovir and the North. (Provided, the witcher Ciri ending is canon)

Absolutely, running with the old gang would be my choice ultimately also. I just cant see them doing that as far as it goes that line seems done for CDP.

Yeah, they were pretty clear that they wanted to end it right there. Still, until further info is available (in four to six years, I reckon.) one can have hopes and wishes. :)

What's amazing with Witcher 3 is that you dont need the UI to play it. It carried on the initial design hygiene of Assassin Creed 1's open world that everything a player can interact with is properly hinted, with animations, audio cues, color codes and eagle eye/witcher senses. And once the minimap and markers are hidden, what a gorgious looking additionnal dimension the games take...

I switched off the question marks. I found Velen too flat and too forested to have a really good open world hiking experience. It lacked points of interest in landmarks. I think Bethesda worlds are crafted better. Density-wise I can't complain - it was a lot to do and nothing really too far off. I think TW3 lured me more with "what crazy quest is around the corner" than "I want to go to this temple below the peak and check out what evil it harbours".

I switched them off as well. I've now just played for 80 hours and 15 or so of them is now in Skellige. But I also went back to White Orchard and set them on again to fully OCD the map. I was totally missing on the Abandonned sites you can free for the humans to set back in and the Viper armor and weapon set mini quest. It's just the starter zone but it's already crazy the amount of stuff and details in it. The only problem with White Orchard is the main map is not oriented with north up, so sometimes I was disoriented while using the sun to go where I needed to. But if there wasnt a tiny sense of urgency to find the daughter I guess I would still be in Velen.

Last year I "finished" FO4VR with no marker and no fast travel after 150 hours and it was great too. I'm psychologically bound to check any icon until it's greyed out. So better hid them all. Now to think of it there is most of the south east of the Commonwealth I didnt even set a foot in... And DLCs I have yet to buy and mod to play...

I might have missed the odd place in TW3 but overall it was a very good ride that still lasted 140h for me.

The Witcher 3 is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X with updated graphics. The update is free for people who already own the game.

"The next-gen edition of the game will feature a range of visual and technical improvements — including ray tracing and faster loading times — across the base game, both expansions, and all extra content."

The only reason I didn't haven't and won't play Witcher 3 is because of the third person only gameplay, yeah I know it was designed so I could see my lil' dude doing all clever jumping and rolling and stuff but I cannont play in third person, the guy just feels in the way of me, it's the same as race games, I gotta be inside the car not controlling form a chase view...
Yeah, I know I'm missing out but only a bit, my lad ran through it and loved it, so yeah I saw it and the world is better for that at least.

Oh yeah, I watched the Netflix series too... good!

I absolutely understand your issue. For me its similar with any sort of driving/flying scenarios. In games like Witcher, yes, I would also prefer the FP view but I can live with third. But as far as driving goes - cant, impossible to perform well in third person.

Ah, nuts. Will just have to do ANOTHER playthrough.

(Once on PS4, a second one because I didn't like the ending I got the first time. Played again when I got a PS4 Pro. And just started a 4th since I got a new gaming PC)

Great news though. If they support Cyberpunk 2077 like they support Witcher 3, it'll be going for decades..
