General Gameplay Media Management (Proposal for more involved management)

I actually wish to bring up a question. How realistic do you all think this suggestion is? When I made this post, it was made prior to the introduction of the JP era. Now with the game being almost 2 years old, do you all think something like this may come to the game?

I still wish to see this being implemented as it would be an update that would cater to players who would love to see numbers and comments during quiet moments of the game. Or at the very least a page like this to be possible if a sequel is in the works. A part of me is still hopeful as it is not adding buildable additions to the game, but a window to show in game data to the players.

And I guess if this is to be adapted to the JP era, we could do this: it will still be called media management, but the icon would be that of a newspaper.
And the guest reception would not be based on modern social media, but on news outlets and critics. To fit the more premium feel of the very first few years of dinosaurs existing again in human society as JP would cater to a few rather than JW's cater to the many.
It certainly seems like they aren't afraid to fundamentally change the game a bit, with the introduction of toilets and destructible vehicles generally (albeit negative effects on management seem to be favoured right now). These are all good ideas, though I'm not sure if weather prediction in particular is possible, considering you can currently save and reload future weather away, at least in challenge mode from what I've heard.

With Sponsorships I think it might be worth expanding upon. With the Barbasol example, a brand deal with them might mean you are required to have at least one gift shop that sells them for the period of the deal (going for item exclusivity like you've suggested might not portray real companies in the best light, even if it is potentially realistic). With other brand deals, it would logically mean being prohibited from being sponsored by their competition at all for the period of the deal, and maybe more draconian terms, especially from new fictional companies.

Sponsorships with certain companies might unlock the ability to use certain new objects, Thorne Mobile Field Systems (the fictional company that produced the Novel Lost World Vehicles) for example could unlock Lost World vehicle skins, though it could be as simple as branded billboards, new items in shops or being able to a place certain amount of a specific scenery/building for free. If this feature were a focus of a DLC, then unlocks could expand a fair bit to things like building skins (assuming such things are possible), scenery, maybe even food items for dinosaurs.

I personally like the idea of incompatible sponsors, requiring you to balance between competitive companies to get what you want at any one time, though you could alternatively go for being locked into a short term contract in exchange for a permanent unlock type.

An additional thing that might be worth considering with Guest feedback is dinosaur visibility. I don't know about you, but if a went to a dinosaur park and didn't see dinosaurs at all, or the species I came specifically to see, I would probably be vocal about it. Capacity might also be worth mentioning, "I tried to get a hotel room, but they were fully booked!"

Love the ideas keep it up (y)

Thanks! It was fun making them 😁

I like that perspective. I think it may be possible to see this included as the recent additions of restrooms and destructive vehicles shows how updates could include subtle game mechanics that enhance and freshen the experience, I was mainly concerned if a new tab like this would be included as it would introduce a lot of data for players to view, even stuff like the weather may need a rework in how it spawns to match this feature if it were to be included.

Sponsors will be a lot of fun to have in this game. I guess if the mechanic would work, it will be like a long duration where the game limits you in certain areas and rewards you for enduring that limitation. It will be an interesting inclusion as it functions as a mission that works in the background and would require the player to reach the end of that time period or requirement to get rewards. Especially if it includes stuff like jeep and chopper skins, and dare I say, may reward players with unique man made decorations. It would add to the fun of unlocking cool decor to use in the parks, and a trophy of sorts. Similar to zoo tycoon 2, where you could get decoration rewards from completing these large tasks like a statue of baby animals for breeding a lot of animals.

I think these could be cool rewards:

• Product placement signs/sculptures
• Certain dinosaur fossils (spinosaurus, brachiosaurus, tyranosaurus, triceratops)
• Vehicle skins
• Unique vegetation, like the baobab.
• Guest decor like fountains, sculptures, flower bed, giant amber, dinosaur
• Large outdoor Murals like this.

I am being hopeful but I could see stuff like this happening in the game. I am actually excited now, I am going to write a new thread on a potential reward system with decorations. 😁

Sounds good, I look forward to the thread.

Another version of the sponsors could be that, the longer you're with them, the more rewards you get. So sort of tiers of rewards from the same company.

Love this idea! Reminds me of JPOG when one of the pictures could have been randomly selected for a magazine post, and you'd be rewarded cash. It'll actually give the player a meaning to use the picture gameplay aspect as since they added capture mode, a lot of people seem to forget about it.
I never knew JPOG had a magazine post and I played that game to death back in the PS2 days! 😮
I really like the idea of player pictures being visible ingame rather than just located to the System's picture folder. I guess this means that a new addition to the game should either allow for the image to be extracted from the folder, or the game should have an insoftware memory to save these photos to.

To be honest, I don't think this idea is likely to be added. In the past couple years, all of the DLC's we've received were either new campaigns, or dinosaur packs. And with the game only receiving one more year of support, I doubt they'll break that norm. It seems more likely that an idea of this magnitude would be included in a sequel. The only scenario I could picture this mechanic being added to JWE is if there's a Jurassic World DLC equivalent to RTJP (but I guess you could argue that the base-game campaign IS the JW equivalent to RTJP). Although, Frontier has surprised us in the past, so there's still hope.
