I'm done if VR support is not included in Odyssey.
This ^Since I bought a VR headset, Elite is my top played game. If they decide to drop VR, it would cause 2 things to me. Break my heart, and make me stop playing the game entirely.
Elite in VR is in many ways my lifelong dream come -almost- true (to be able to go to the stars IN PERSON) and there is no other substitute at the time.
Agree. When I say that I will quit playing if VR support is dropped, that is a statement of fact, not emotion, since the VR experience is my main driver to play. If VR support was dropped I would likely start playing other VR games - such as actually trying out Half-life and/or going back to Skyrim. It would be a pity."Rage-quitting" = cutting off nose to spite face. Quitting if VR is dropped is quitting because the main reason for playing ED has gone. We will just move on. I personally will return to XPlane full time.
I personally wouldn't agree with this. Headsets sales are well past 10m/year and growing ( CoVid impact on purchasing notwithstanding ). Even relatively speaking, I don't think it's reasonable to characterise this as 'niche'. This should put net users at somewhere between 25M and 40M, considering some will be repeat buyers. The sad truth is that VR is still niche and that implementing fun and fair/balanced gameplay loops for both 2D and VR is tough.
I love the game in VR, but I doubt it will be supported for the new release and that's fine, there are other games out there and I will continue to play this is 2D.
