Part of the installation requirement to enable the 4C in IL2 is to install VJoy...after 100's of attempts I still can't get that piece of 3rd party rubbish to install, consistently reports an error in installation, even after contacting Tobii support and trying every workaround known to man. The only suggestion left was to do a complete reinstall of Windows...which I wasn't about to do for a piece of 3rd party software I only required to enable head/eyetracking in one game. I suggested Tobii reach out to 777 software and offer support for a game they dubiously advertise as 'supported' in their software...even though it clearly isn't, either that or bring the required VJoy driver in house and include it in their own installation files. That's odd, I use Tobii 4C myself, and never had any issues. I just downloaded Tobii's gamehub, followed the steps for IL2 and it simply worked. I do use Facetrack NoIR for other games that do not support Tobii 4C directly, like Rise of Flight.
Facetrack NoIR (which has the required VJoy driver included in it's installation that Tobii couldn't seem to manage) I installed so I could use the 4C in Star Citizen (and RoF)...which has TrackiR support but none natively for the 4C. Fortunately, Facetrack NoIR works in IL2 as well as it does in other non natively supported Tobii 4C titles. It almost got to the point where I was going up in the loft to drag out my old TrackIR pro and chuck the 4C in the bin...Facetrack NoIR saved that from being a reality. I like the 4C, I got it to use in Elite thanks to Obsidian Ants recommendation and it's support in Elite is second to none...but it's lack of flight sim support overall makes it a pretty.... albeit mostly useless... attachment to the bottom of my centre monitor...apart from Facetrack NoIR stepping up and saving it's hide.
