Return to Bubble: CMDR DunkleAura will be bringing his carrier D2EA Purple Nebula L40-H8J as a support carrier and to haul players back once we have arrived in Phipoea WK-E d12-1374 (final destination). He plans to remain in the final system for a week before heading back to the Bubble to give players time to explore and race around on Crown of Ice.

Why Phipoea WK-E d12-1374?: Ever since I visited the Crown of Ice on Distant Worlds 2 I have been wanting to fly a very fast and agile ship in the ravines of that planet. The problem is that if you maximize speed with the ships build then your jump range is awful and it will take a long time to head to that system just to fly through the ravines. I found out about the DSSA a week after it was announced, and really wanted to be a part of something like that after my experience with DW2. I signed up and bought another copy of Elite Dangerous to have a dedicated DSSA and exploration account and realized this was a perfect chance to bring speed built ships out to race. I would be thrilled if any of you wish to bring or send your racing ships on the DSSA Ronin to potentially have race events(no need to participate in the deployment event to store a ship or several on it).

CHAPTER 1

The Eskite Cytonik Independents had been oppressed for generations under the Natural Eskite Party’s dictatorship rule, and then the Fire Nation attacked… Oh wait wrong story… And then out of nowhere the Empire strikes back… No that’s not it either. No one attacked anyone, well yet. Oh yes this is the correct story… After being oppressed for generations, under the Imperial rule, another Imperial faction entered the system to extend it's company and pushed for growth while caring nothing for the smaller Eskite Cytonik Independents or other factions… I mean with a company name like “HIP 9769 Blue Netcoms Comms” what did you expect?… Enough was enough. The Eskite Cytonik Independents did not have the resources or the money to find a new home system and didn’t want to be anywhere near the Empire anymore after the rest of the citizens in the system had treated them as less than human because of their “abilities”… Hint, it’s in their name… so they began to form a plan. Then it got even worse. Only 2 weeks into the meetings discussing a plan to leave the system, the Fire Nation attacked… No for real this time. Did you not see the fires everywhere? Thargoids left flaming stations in their wake like it was nothing. It was like the Galactic warming of 3305 or something… The Eskite Thargoid incursion started on March 7th 3305 and lasted for NINE WEEKS, any imaginable nightmare would have been preferred. There were so few left once the Pilots Federation could finally make it to Eskite and drive the Thargoids away that they could all fit on a single rescue vessel. 1200 remained, 8% of their population from only 2 months before.

The following months were a welcomed relief. The rescue vessel took them farther into the bubble as the Thargoids continued to spread through civilization and after several relocations the nearly forgotten E.C. Independents finally ended up on the Gorbatko Enterprise in Baijungu. There they found work at a terraforming equipment factory for a kind old billionaire who took them in as hired help. He didn’t care about what most of the other humans thought of them and for the first time in over a century they began to feel “normal” (after being treated so poorly for decades they began to feel like maybe they weren't human). He had a rather peculiar obsession with white lotus flowers that they never did find a reason for but the odd hobbies of the old man they came to call “Uncle” helped ease their minds if only a little after the tragedy. The E.C. Independents seemed like they would never find a normal even though it was quite peaceful on this side of the Bubble compared to their old home in Eskite, their loss was beyond understandable and they always felt anxious about the Thargoids returning, whishing to leave this part of the galaxy.

And this is where I come in. I don’t actually join the story, or well not completely anyway, I just started following the story at this point and intend to see it to an end… On April 2 3306 Shifnalport in Diso finally finished its new dry dock for building more fleet carriers for the Pilots Federation and the very next day Admiral Qohen Leth announced the DSSA, The Deep Space Support Array (A collection of over 100 voluntier Fleet Carriers spread throughout every region of the galaxy organized by FleetComm). This got the E.C. Independents thinking and discussing with Uncle, who knew of their desire to leave inhabited space, if they could get a ride on one of these carriers out to a place far from the Thargoids… and from potential corporations from finding where the remainder of their “slave” force vanished to after the attack in Eskite. They were not technically slaves but the Blue Comm Comm whatsits probably didn’t understand that.

The well known mercenary AEtherial Samurai posted a wanted ad for a crew on the message board in Shifnalport for a new fleet carrier he recently ordered to be built… I say well known but that’s just in this area of the bubble, as he originally served a lord somewhere (cant find much on this guy's background pre mercenary) and that lord died so he went all “lone wolf” as a solo gun for hire until they told him he had to join the Pilots Federation to buy a fleet carrer. He’s quiet and doesn’t talk much and likes to vanish almost out of thin air like a particular slug I’ve heard stories about, so I quit bothering with his backstory beyond that… AEtherial Samurai heard about the DSSA announcement a few days later and also thought it was a good excuse to leave the Bubble as well since he was getting old, and tired of all the killing and fighting.

Present day, June 3306, the E.C. Independents found the ad that Samurai left and replied to it. He accepted their offer as a crew on the DSSA Ronin and they began preparations for departure. The remainder of the Independents… I’m just going to call them ECI at this point, you know who I mean… after accounting for women and children in the ECI, there were not enough to operate a fleet carrier on their own and they didn’t have anywhere near enough experience to attempt it in the first place… Remember that terraforming factory? Ya, turns out it was very relevant and couldn’t have been a better refuge after the Thargoid incursion over a year ago… Uncle had been talking to the family leaders in the ECI and was proposing a deal with them to make joining a DSSA carrier even possible. He would have liked to help them directly and send them off on their own but that was more than he could afford to give them. He instead offered a mutually beneficial deal of filling the rest of the crew with his experienced workers and sending some terraforming equipment as well to see how practical it was for a carrier to be able to terraform a planet mostly on its own. The ECI were overwhelmed with everything falling into place and them finally getting their dream of freedom and peace fulfilled.

Terra-EX Astro Corp. offered to help fuel the DSSA Ronin for its quest by hosting an event where many volunteer Commanders would go out to test the new subsurface mining equipment that is supposed to be far more efficient than the old subsurface equipment. They also seek to find more efficient ways of acquiring Tritium which is in very high demand right now with the DSSA launching over 100 fleet carriers around the galaxy… The ENTIRE GALAXY! I mean it seems like only yesterday when this small section of space was the entire human population (minus a few crazy hermits that wanted to fly hundreds of thousands of lightyears alone), and then a few hours later Colonia sprouted a full colony, and now we are talking multiple stations in each region? What a time to be alive! Now where was I… The event will be held June 16th at 18:00 and ADMIRAL MP_Astro… Why does no one refer to the Pilots Federation Commanders by their rank that they worked very hard in the Navy for. It’s not like they got that rank for fun or to kill time while board. Astro is even an Admiral King! (or is it King Admiral? Not sure) Would be nice if they referred to us by our proper ranks (Oh ya I didn’t mention this yet but I am Admiral Silv3rDragon, ignore the number ok there’s not many “normal” names left these days, Astro even has an underscore in his name). I know, I get too distracted by my thoughts… Admiral Astro will be shuttling miners out to a potentially very good Tritium mining location and bringing them back home once it’s over. Admiral DunkleAura… pretty sure he’s a King as well, just saying it’s not a walk in the park to get those Navy ranks. Oh ya distractions… will also be helping to shuttle Commanders out and back for the event tomorrow. The DSSA Ronin plans to leave inhabited space in the middle of next month and will be heading to the Galactic Centre region while sightseeing and exploring along the way.


Well I guess that’s it for now as I’m caught up to the present minute and I don’t have any new information at the moment. I would haul my own fleet carrier out there (seems like everyone has one these days) but I think I will just tag along on one of the other carriers to watch the event in person. I’m thinking I may just follow this story to the Centre (ehh , no, ok I’ll stop) and take a vacation for the next couple months as things take off (oh come on...). Stay tuned for the continuation of the ECI story and come out to join us for the event.

we managed to mine/(transfer a tiny bit at the end) 19500 tons of Tritium in just over 2 hours.

Saw it in Oddysey when I arrived, and was discouraged Fortunately it is still there in Horizons...for now. I'll be parking my carrier, the F/C Courtesans Bedchamber across the bulge from you Hope to see pass through some time.

I ended up taking a break from Elite after launching the carrier and after a few months I was not expecting to return to the game. I transfered the discord server ownership to a friend who helped with it but I guess it ended up just deleting it instead of transferring to him but now that I'm back I may need to find something to use or remake it. Thank you for posting pictures, its always nice to see it still getting use.
I like your profile pic btw. It makes me think of the Skyward series by Brandon Sanderson (DSSA Ronin lore inspired by those books).
Side thought, are you still on your "DW2" trip or just using the same ship on another trip?

^^ a better build for the viper if you like ripping around fast. Sure its a bit slower top speed, but having perma boost shouldnt be overlooked, it extends life if you like to turn. Oh and it can jump 19ly =)

That has been my main ship since I got back from DW1. In fact, the DW one decal is on the starboard side. I have nearly 2 1/2 million light years under my belt on that ship alone. She is the Gloria Coelis (Glory of Heaven).
