Yes I agree that ship would work fine to escape with, But it’s well engineered... not your average new player has that sort of loadoutI've made billions with this, always in open, and haven't lost a single ton.

I've been reading this thread... and if you keep saying 'gank' alot (even in your head) it starts to sound funny, I don't think I can take hearing that word anymore. What is the definition of that word anyway? Well according to Google/Oxford results, '(in a video game) use underhand means to defeat or kill (a less experienced opponent)". I've been playing since day one so I would be considered an experienced player. I know how to evade attackers for the most part, but a fully engineered wing (or even one or two) PvP ships is almost impossible to always get away from in a stock low cost ship, high wake or not... there just isn't time to get away. I tried this recently with a Hauler in Borann just to see how long I could survive, and it was not long at all, typically not even half way through the countdown before I was exploding. I think this training is great, but don't expect to get away everytime if you haven't at least done some upgrading of your ship. On the other hand my fully rated and engineering Cobra IV hull tank can survive indefinitely 1v1, and for quite a while against a wing even, not that it's good for anything else though... 0 cargo space, not carrying many LTD in that, so why am I playing, just to evade gankers? It's fun for a while but it becomes pointless when there is mining credits to make. It comes down just a general choices;
1. Use a max cargo/miner for highest credit/hr return, paper thin and will likely not survive any interdiction. You play in open because you like the excitement and risk. You might lose 3-4 hours and 700M credits in an instant.
2. Use a well equipped ship with okay mining/cargo but can escape interdiction, your credits/hr will be MUCH less, but you'll probably be fine if you know what you're doing... will take you twice as long to get the same as 1.
3. Do #1 but in solo/PG and avoid all risk and maximize your credits/hr (NPC interdiction is a joke and almost no risk)
Guess what most choose?

Is that... a Cobra loadout? Well, now you have my attention, that's for sure! Here are a few questions:ture but thats not what we're talking about. I survived a gank with this https://s.orbis.zone/7Y3b
ROFL.Oh man, that started me laughing. Now I'm constantly inserting a W after the G, or even replacing the G altogether.

no no no. B rated is not good. I was just making a point that I survived a gank in that exact build when I was first getting started on PC. A rated is the way to go. I'd be more than happy to help you with your builds though.Is that... a Cobra loadout? Well, now you have my attention, that's for sure! Here are a few questions:
- B rated modules, better integrity than A, yes? But is it worth it for lower performance and higher mass? You use reinforced rather than military-grade, but then you use hull reinforcement package. I feel like using A-grade, military and module reinforcement would work better.
- 40% shield boost sure sounds nice, but what about those pesky FSD missiles? Sounds like something a ganker would use! Wouldn't we want some missile defence? And if we do, PD or ECM?
What do you think about this loadout? I based it on yours: https://coriolis.io/outfit/cobra_mk_iii?code=A2pataFalddasaf42m2m--0401030345m3C51lP42i.Iw18cQ==.Aw18cQ==..EweloBhBGA2EDMoCmBDA5gG2SEBWCaEKEoA=

Because the ganker was a noob perhaps?But the speed question is something I'm interested in, too. Would you also survive a gank attempt in a Cobra Mk4? But it's nice to see that this Cobra has no chaff. From what I gathered here I was under the impression they are more or less mandatory to escape. Which I would find somewhat depressing... (I really don't know what I'm doing here, as I'm currently mining in a shieldless CMk4, where some rocks and debris are already my biggest enemies
)
I mean, if you have something that can do 630mps+ theres literally nothing that a ganker will use that can catch you. Couriers are great for running around the bubble. You can easily get 45ly out of em. Dolphin is another great choice. Its not as fast but as long as the ganker isnt using a Phantom, Clipper or Orca, they wont be able to catch you.All right, I understand.
My old 3301 Cobra is finally in her last days. I'm currently taking her exploring. Maybe I'll try some mining after that! Just... eh... a couple of LTD's to fund my Krait. Nothing more, I swear!
You don't happen to have some Krait II builds lying around? How does a Krait II look for general combat/light trading? How does it compare to Python in this role?
I have gotten some engineers going... is there something I should focus on?
And then there's speed. What are your thoughts on speed? Is it possible to evade interdictions (or, well, the combat that ensues after the interdiction) completely by having superior speed in normal space? (can't be reinterdicted... pesky FSD missiles uselesss...). If so, how much speed do you need to do this reliably? I'm thinking about getting a Courier for some Isinona-wannabe-shenanigans and maybe some smuggling, how does that sound?
I actually know the ganker well and joined up with him for a short time after that encounter. If you know how to fly evasively, they wont even be able to land a shot on you, no matter how slow or weak your ship is.Because the ganker was a noob perhaps?But the speed question is something I'm interested in, too. Would you also survive a gank attempt in a Cobra Mk4? But it's nice to see that this Cobra has no chaff. Even with gimbled weapons? Do you have a video of how you are doing that?
yeah, i could probably put something together. As long you have chaff gimbals are useless. You can escape a gank in pretty much any ship if you know how to fly evasively.Most of the time I prefer to fly ships that also can do something, other than just combat or escaping. That seems a bit of a one-dimensional philosophy... and a pretty obvious one on top of it. Do you think I'm daft?
