Got my month old comnander, holiday from being geographically stuck by the BGS, doing the stuff in ED I missed becausde of BGS.
OP, did you try the Discoveries under the codex?
Thargoid Probes is one of the entries in there, at least shows you which systems "might" have probes. I jus used it for meta-alloys.

Megaship hacking (especially in pleiades, those attacked by thargoids), and you won't be wanted as it's legal to hatch break attacked megaships
But as they currently are broken, you'll need to wait.....again ^^.
I recently saw somewhere that military courier vessels can handle some, i'm in reorte but cannot find any :'(
I found one in a class 7 NHSS, but it took two days to find. The mega ship is Delphi is broken at the moment. Sometimes you can find fleet carriers selling them in the Pleiades sector.

OT, I found them to be a right pain to find, tried Ammonia worlds USS's, but eventually managed to get one by pirating a megaship. While they're very glitchy, they're not completely broken, some cargo should be scoopable and not be stuck in the scenery. I'd at least give it a try.

Sorry to say though, I've found two in NHSS 5's over the last few days - not sure how many I dropped into as I fight the goids after scooping so don't really count.
Possibly about... 12? ish? maybe?
I also accidentally rammed the second one while trying to scoop it before the goid grabbed it - knew I should have shot him first.

Yes, It's Delphi.
The place has at least two megaships one of which is a science vessel, much more likely to have a probe within it's cargo (can't get it due to that bug now though)
I am fairly sure the NHSS level 5's just have a chance of having a probe in them regardless of system, but I could be wrong I suppose.
Delphi is just a fun system for thargoid related stuff anyway though.
According to AX players researches, there are 2x more chances to find probes in NHSS7 than in NHSS5. Im at work for the moment but i will put the spawn rate when i go home, unless someone ninja me
Would make sense - those threat 7's could be hairy though.
Good stuff, it's great they aren't as rare as they used to be when.... the amazing gameplay to get them was literally fly round an ammonia world randomly hoping a certain signal course would spawn.
You didn't find one while searching for probes??? They are much more common.
There are static sources for those though, search the canonn website for alien crash site, they have sensor(s) there.
