We can be a prickly bunch, but everyone here is pretty awesome.

Very encouraged to know you've been playing elite as long as the rest of us (and longer than me!). While we fully expect you to only be able to act in frontiers interests first as with all the community management so far, its reassuring to know that deep down you probably get where we're coming from.

Hope your stay is enjoyable and rewarding.

ps. Prior community managers to yourself have enjoyed boasting about how terrible they are playing the game. You don't have to do this.
 
I'm still unsure what a Community Manager actually does... based on what we've seen since launch I would suggest the job title is slightly misleading!

This a basic job description for Community managers:

"Community Managers serve as the face of a company. They are generally responsible for managing and handling communications in both directions. Community Managers re involved in various activities such as communications, PR, social media, events, and content creation."

And if you look in the Announcement section, that is usually where community managers post for instance patch notes, updates, etc. So from where I stand, they are providing us with the information about patch notes and so on, and sometimes they jump into a discussion to bring clarity to a discussion. The same could be seen as providing live streams on social media (you-twit-face), and they might help with content creation by reading what is going on on the forums, etc.

This info is based on what I know about the function description. Frontier might have a different interpretation of the role of a Community Manager.

I did not realise we had community manager? There doing a great job keeping the community updated with all these bugs and when there going to be fixed.
I love been sarcastic. I am running out of patience,I want to use the paint jobs i bought for my fc, not having them bug out all the time. A simple post when the fix is due would solve this problem.

Hey Gaz - rest assured we are here and taking in all this feedback. I am hoping that your FC issue has been resolved in the latest patch. We will do our best to give you more of a heads up next time!
