Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

I keep having re-runs of the grand radio silence from Ci¬G from 2016 to 2017...when we discovered that there really was no Sqn 42 ready to release, the sandworms and gameplay touted just around the corner for the PU were non existent and what Ci¬G actually had to show after several years of supposed progress was a broken tech demo with absolutely no content.

The almost year long wait for the then 3.0 jesus patch to release during this radio silence not withstanding...they've been simply stalling and marking time since then. Everything supposedly ready and playable was removed from the production schedule of Sqn 42 and the PU and has never reappeared in any form since. The only consistency is ship sales.

Looking at SC objectively rather than hopefully...the last working gameplay loop added was mining...2 years ago. They've certainly expanded it to a small degree but it's still neither working nor complete in any fashion. As for the rest of the simple tier 0 career paths...missing in action whilst Ci¬G go about their almost regular as clockwork annual distraction phase introducing new 'surprise' additions that nobody wanted.
Do you think this years surprise feature will be enough to justify a $3mil burn rate per month?

You need to commit more crimes. The prison game play loop is brand new! 🤣
...And look how that turned out...only in a project from Ci¬G...where prison 'gameplay' is immeasurably more tedious than the real thing. Prison gameplay was also one of the annual 'surprise' distraction efforts rather than proposed game content. I think of it like Theatres of War...except you go to sleep in a cell for a few minutes ;)

They talked about it on the June 26th Calling All Devs video. They gave no indication of when the next tests would be or when it might be released. Of course last year at CitizenCon they told the press it would release in "early 2020".
Thanks for the answer. I thought the SC devs told the backers no resources where wasted for this mode? If the struggle to get a CT map working oh boy ..

We've seen neither hide nor hair of Chris Roberts in months. The white knights on Spectrum are having to work overtime for their lack of pay, and negative posts there have increased in both tenor and stride. For my own part, won't post there anymore, but will vote for commentary with which I agree.

The Squadron 42 video CIG announced months ago should have been the easiest of fixes for them ... heck, just show a few clips of footage with WIP all over them ... but no ... CIG can't even manage that.

Either they're preparing to actually drop SQ-42 in beta and thus keeping it really silent (IMO unlikely), or their disarray in management is even worse than many suspect. Either way, CIG appears to excel at shooting themselves in the foot.
That's where I am at as well GreySix. I'm an OB, backer number 5,141. I'm tired of getting banned by overzealous moderation for posting objective facts and dealing with non-thinkers like Thylbana Nyx.

It's been so long I cant remember what the excuse was. :ROFLMAO:

Was it the B-roll in the vid wasnt good enough? Or something like that.

Yeah, no more straight pvp, only griefing now.
There are ways around it. As an org, we practice PvP after grouping, since you can't gain a crime stat by whacking fellow group members. The downside of course is you can see where everyone is at.

Secondly, you can PvP in unmonitored space. Of course that does the gankers little good. :D

Pretty much all I do is gank. If servers didnt 30k so often, it would make it worth while to spread unmonitored space around stanton. gets on the pricey side if servers go down.

Here's an example of a thread furiously attacked by white knights (and likely reported into the ground), though its interesting to see where the majority of the votes lie:

I'll be surprised if the thread isn't locked or deleted before the end of the day.
