ANNOUNCEMENT Tritium Depot Refills

Simple and not-too-immersion-breaking temporary fix:

Those who need tritium put up purchase orders for it (at galactic-average prices).

NPC's provide it (wherever you are).

Job done.

Edit: actually that could be a long-term third way of getting tritium. Mine it, but it at stations, or have NPC's deliver it. Let's flesh it out a little.

Cost: 20% above galactic average at Sol or Colonia, plus a distance surcharge that adds about 20% to the base price for every 10,000ly of distance (from either Sol or Colonia, whichever is nearest).

Must have docking permissions set to "all" for the NPC's to land.

Neat idea, but there are no NPCs in the black, populated systems/human signal systems only afaik.

That excuse might have worked five or so major screwups ago, three years or so ago. This is not longer an exceptional case or an unfortunate mistake. FDev screwing up has become the norm, and here they screwed up in a way that renders their last major released feature in years completely inoperable mid-journey, because they changed the universe's rules without warning and everyone who was traveling expecting things to work in a particular manner is now screwed. And their response to this was not to at least disable Tritium requirements for jumps or, at the very least, disable upkeep until they fix things so you're not stuck paying for a stationary lump of metal, but rather to just bestow upon people the ability to be stranded a little bit more to the left.

The sad puppy eye defense wears thin the more you use it. They do this Every. Single. Time. And if you don't raise a stink in time, it just becomes the latest in the marathonic list of bugs and broken features that can't be fixed because they already moved on to some other new screwup.
This.

I will likely get nothing because my FC was quite full when I went offline. This sort of thing sickens me. It's a band aid offer and nothing else. Instead of making Tritium available in icy rings what do they say. We are working on another patch that will likely mess up everything because they never QAQC these patches.

Not surprised at all. Highly dissapointed is what I am.

I do not have a fleet carrier.

I could however have gone mining for tritium since the patch, and sold it to a station or carrier for a decent profit.

But i heard about the bug, so did not bother as it was not working properly. Yes, thats why i did not go mining...erm...yes.

Can i claim compensation, at a rate of 1000t x galactic average price of tritium, to cover the hardships i had to suffer by not mining in that time.

This would be a fantastic gesture of goodwill, to us non carrier owners, who are also suffering from this bug in our own way.

Your faithful chancer, as if you dont ask, you dont recieve,

Viscera.

All those saying mining is still easy, can someone kindly bring me the equipment I need for SSD mining as I only brought lasers. I'm 8K from Beagle Point. Cheers.

I feel sorry for you, but as soon as I have bought my FC I have bought every kind of equipment that I could ever possibly need in future exploring and stored in my FC.
Long before I left the bubble with my FC for the first time.

This is how natural selection works in ED, what makes this game even more interesting from my point of view.
You will survive in long run only if you are expecting the unexpected, as sudden changes in gameplay are a recurring experience in ED.

Your post was a lightbulb moment for me. Before today I hadn't realised that what actually made the game dangerous was FDev themselves.

This comment was so brilliant, that I would totally bring you the damn launchers, if it was in any way useful

But
a) FD will probably ;) fix Tri laser mining long before I would get there

b) equipment sold in FC outfitting is not available to buy for other players

The latter is an example of another way FD unnecessary crippled FCs.
I do understand this applied to engineered modules, but sold, unengineered modules should be part of FC stock after some grace period
(to give the commander who sold them chance to buy them back if he changes his mind).

BTW: YT is currently processing my >200t/h Tri mining video.

It's hardly a mining skill show, what makes my opinion that anyone can SSD mine over 200t/h even more plausible.
At least in the bubble, because I have found several Tri/LTD overlaps there.

I'm gonna do a similar run in pure LTD / Tri hotspot (not overlapping) to verify the reports about nearly 200t/h mining rates in such spots.

Do you want Odyssey before 2022, then let the dev team do their work and let the few who are looking into into bug fixes fix them without making them feel worse about this. This game is their baby, not 'just a job'. When they break something it guts them more than it bothers the players. They have so much more feelings going on when something unintended happens than the simple anger and passive agressive attitudes players have when something breaks.

Wait it out.
Missed that one yesterday.

Well my answer is that as I invested in a space sim based on 40 odd years of providing a simulation of flying a space ship through the galaxy rather than buying a FPS game, no I would prefer them to fix everything and improve the game which would be recognisable as part of the "Elite" franchise rather than trying to port Doom into it.

Now I haven't moaned about their decision with Odyssey and will try to experience it with an open mind. I also accept that many people seem particularly excited about this even though a lot of what the "Elite" franchise has always been about is broken or could be improved instead,

But as you asked....

So here's a temporary fix which hopefully will defuse tensions a little: instead of a one-off, the tanks are filled permanently at 1000t.
Many of us are still happily playing the game as it is. Having Fdev give out infinite fuel would really ruin it. The occasional top-up to bail-out those incapable of mining for whatever reason is OK because I can opt out by keeping my depot full by mining.

Congratulations I guess, but just because you are not having problems doesn't mean others are so lucky. Clearly something is not working as intended or people wouldn't be complaining about it. So can you, like, stop basically trying to tell people they're wrong because your experience isn't the same as theirs? Half of this thread is you doing that and frankly, it makes you look like an arrogant phallus. If you're not having any issues, that's where your conversation should stop.
