Patch Notes Fleet Carriers Update - Patch 4 Patch Notes

Patch after patch after patch and even if one of the patches does fix something it breaks two others and we're constantly told that the team do care about the game and it hurts them when things go wrong but does it? Does it really? because I don't always get that impression. I'm not filled with much confidence for Odyssey. I love and live for this game but I'm really starting to miss No Man's Sky, please don't make me go back

Welcome to Elite!

I never did. And I explicite named SSD mining as "emergency solution".

Never did this too.
Someone asked or even accused me of using some specific hardware when I mentioned automation of some annoying part of "UI struggle".
So I pasted my script as proof that it's possible in general (Autohotkey is not a hardware specific software, unlike Hotas TARGET for example)

Oh, it was you.

So in short, you got your answer and now you rebuke me for answering?

Sweet.
No...i said about hardware when u said something ABRVALG and autohotkey :D
You started.

And I am doing it "in the background", ADC and SCA are automating most of the effort.

google parses this as some hardware,.

Please remember to regression test before launch of the patch so that old bugs are not re-inroduced. :)

Yes. It would be a disaster if LTD overlap bug and EGG exploit would come back.

Even more FCs owned by clueless commanders knowing only how to mine ONE commodity using ONE technique and in ONE system only :sneaky:

Haha!

You mean "ADC" and "SCA"?
I assumed that those ED abbreviations are a common knowledge on this forum.

PS. Should I explain what I mean by "ED"? ;)
Nah...I know SC :p, not SCA.
Any way. That I would like to have a button. Still problems with initial state not known.

List of things I would like to see added/changed in ED UI is probably too long to fit in this field ;)

This is why I try to make my own workarounds.
There is no way to make "idiot-proof" scripts.
This is exactly why my script is missing the first (open 4th panel) key.
I chose solution where to trigger hotkey you have first open panel to confirm visually that correct tab is selected.
It's ONE extra key to press, the rest 14 keystrokes are automated.

I can't really follow "what if commodities will change" remark.
Adding more commodities can only make the list scroll longer, so I added some safety margin of "hold down-scrolling up" part of script.
I guess someone has mixed my script with the one that automates transfering tritium FROM cargo to SHIP, and then donates to depot.

But initial was about this response

Point is you cannot expect everybody will do so fast/easy as you do because your solution is not salable and easy to port. So that guy was correct - it is a pain.

I can play LA2 nine accounts at once like it is 9 semi-drunk people. However I don't promote it on forums because I wrote personal solution, which cannot be ported - it need in game heavy preconfigured things, I can't even play it alone without system, because not convenient for live play.

I definitely don't expect "everybody" to do things in ED "so fast/easy" as i.
And I consider myself only as someone who just went from "semi-noob" to "semi-average" in the ladder of ED player's level of general-knowledge-about-the-game ranking.

Not after my late forum experience, seeing so many commanders struggling with BASIC tasks/workarounds or not being able to understand the tips they are given,
because they have been doing maybe 10% of in-game activities so far and can't follow the context/details of the text they are reading ;)

PS. Just in case - don't take it personal, I was referring to the "hypothetical them" ;)

I don't. I was thinking to automate many thing here, but because initial state is not known...I think it is a waste after all. As I do 90% of time in deep.

yeah, almost 2 months, 2 betas and 4 patches, hundreds of reported bugs, and only about 10 phrases and / or fixes and dozens of paint jobs.
xDD

Every time, you get better, FDEV. xD
Hear or read us? come on man.

Pffft, 4 patches? In the early days of Elite Dangerous there were updates that were followed by SIX patches! Those were the days. You younglings don't know what waiting for a working patch is!

As I said - whatever floats your boat.
I can almost hear my fingers saying "thanks" to my mind for this script ;)

Have never used it, but there is a cmd to reset panel states, think it is part of the A.S.T.R.A pack.. Don't quote me on that tho! Been years since I used those packs 😅
I had one of the HCS voice packs. At first it was fine, I'd say, "Request docking!" and it would request docking. Then it 'evolved' so that I'd say, "Request docking!" and it would be all, "Reset your pips for you, sir? Suit you, sir?" so I dumped it and wrote my own macros.

This is the first I heard that HCS had a binding for resetting panels; if there is one I'd be curious to know what it is.

Not that I'm using voice commands much now. Since I got my Reverb recognition is much less accurate. I use it to command my fighter pilot and it often takes multiple attempts to get my command recognised. And yes, I did train voice recognition on the new computer I bought to run the Reverb.

The only activity that is "using the carrier" that requires fuel is making jumps. Do you constantly jump the carrier, with little or no other activity between jumps, for the "majority of [your] in-game time"? To what end?

This sounds like the problem a lot of Commanders seem to have, treating a carrier nearly the same as a ship in terms of jump frequency, but ignoring the fuel requirements, or worse yet griping about them ad nauseum in the forums.

Maybe the current situation was supposed to be the thing and it was only bugged previously? :p

It would make sense from lore integrity (a flying station does not jump every hour unless you're super-rich and can afford it).

Looks like Frontier isn't the only company that has to repatch the same update over and over again. From my latest Steam update (of which I've been getting a lot lately):

Note: This update has been re-released on July 28th to fix an issue with launching games.

Note: This update has been re-released on July 24th to fix an issue with chat in certain games.

Note: This update has been re-released on July 15th to fix an issue causing web views to crash and reload in certain conditions on 32-bit versions of Windows and new installs of Steam.
