Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

LOL

Could be a metaphor for SC in general.

So, anyone taking bets on Turbulent doing a MS, taking over CIG and stripping features to ship the game within the next couple of years?

However, as i understand, CR has a 10% stake in Turbulent so....
But Turbulent also has a 25% stake in Ci¬G and 2 active board members ;) Ci¬G...namely Roberts and one other, probably Ortwin Freyermuth, have positions on Turbulents board as well.

If it's as the agent suggests that Turbulent can plan and hit dates...which I assume is correct... and might be maneuvering themselves into a position of favour...I can see the oversight commitee that the investors (apparently) have set up being swayed by that owing to the persistent no show that is the hallmark of Roberts and Ci¬G.

ROFL, what a load of drivel. "Roadmap Update" (still no roadmap) :ROFLMAO: you can't make that up. They have to "develop" the roadmap. Shall I tell you why? They have no idea what the game will be and nothing is designed. That's why they need to fabricate their fake roadmaps.

"But it’s clear that the confluence of the prolonged delay to the Briefing Room and the lack of any new information (because there was none) created angst within the community."
No, bonehead, it isn't "angst" when people start asking the right questions. "Angst" is what you lot feel about people finding out about your crappy scam scheme.

Had a look at the SC case study on Turbulent's Website. It seems to be written as if all the things it lists are there and available. Can anyone playing SC confirm this is true? Or is it the same bull droppings just in a different place?

It's all there..and it mostly works as advertised. The ship stats page has always been a joke but that's due to Ci¬G not updating them...or not giving Turbulent the information and current figures necessary to do so. Ci¬G and Star Citizen would be nothing without Turbulent...as much as the marvellous and mostly ignorant Star Citizen community like to drag them down.

Oo, naughty, they now claim all the registered accounts are 'players'. (And is using the galactopedia of imaginary systems playing the game these days?)

Improbable impact
A universe of users
With upwards of 2.5 million players, in a galaxy of 91 star systems and 900+ planets and stations, the world of Star Citizen is an ever-expanding feat of audience engagement.

This makes it sound like they are going to report on what the teams are doing rather than what they have achieved.
Yes, I think they basically say it explicitly.
"The new Roadmap will focus more on breaking out teams and features so you can interactively see what is being worked on across all teams, as opposed to what features will make X release."
Maybe it won't have any dates! :D

Further funding increases roadmap.
2016 - sandworm nobody asked for.
2017 - making of video nobody asked for.
2018 - FOIP nobody asked for.
2020 - TOW nobody asked for.
The roadmap video people wanted to see still isn't here. Even a low quality video (like they planned to do) of them listing things in the work and a tour of the office would have been something.

Quality and meeting standards seems to by CIG's go to excuse. That all the time they want, backers can wait forever to get the perfect product they have been funding.

Turbulent don't make the game assets. They designed the excellent Starmap which is pretty good (I like it)...Turbulent don't make the main game assets like I said...not yet anyway ;)
Turbulent has been making in-game assets for at least two years now, including new maps (planets) and landing zones. They've hired producers, animators, artists, designers and engineers to work directly on Star Citizen since at least 2018.

By the way, if some of you want the greatest hits, here they are in (beware that some of these contain language not safe for work (NSFW):

The AMD letter (what started it all) (2016)
Designer leak re: basic mechanics (2018)
Another designer leak re: delays (2018)
"Hello" leak re: AI issues (2017)
My drunken, idiotic rambling at a food festival (2018)
Internal "F2P" memos/discussion (2017)
"Stop trying to get refunds" (2017)
Additional investor hunt by Chris (2016)
Continued funding by investors (2017)
Faceware camera issues (2019)

There so much more, stretching back to 2016. So much has been posted and forgotten about during this protracted development, it's crazy.

If you want to listen to me go over some of these things:

As always, my disclaimer:

and I have been wrong, probably about a lot of stuff, because I don't work there and I'm not a journalist so who cares, just laugh at this dumb game and the corrupt, inept idiots at the top running the whole thing

To be fair ToW was just around the corner. Remember no dev recourses were wasted.😏
