The path to one trillion credits

One trillion credits does sound cool. Being single and unemployed does not cool though.

I am going to assume the person who uses all the time available in that situation to play one aspect of one computer game for twelve hours every day, every week, every month of every year might possibly have a different set of dreams and ambitions than you and me. He might legit be happy, and if so good for him. :)

I was browsing Inara, and stumbled across the "#1 profile" in the Inara rankings (here: https://inara.cz/cmdr-credits/7004/?page=5). A Cmdr Marz - who has 1.2 Trillion credits. His work ethic is legendary - routinely earning 15-20 Billion credits a week.

My question is...how? Is this the personification of grind? Is he a dev? does he mine 12 hours a day?

Why do you care?

And if you look at their Inara earnings, they got 87bn in the last 60 days.
that's about 1.45 bn per day.
Assuming they're doing mapped mining - that's roughly 3-4 hours per day - suddenly it's no longer that impressive, right?
And they might still have a job and maybe some social RL activities.

Why is that wrong? If he enjoys mining then let him.
Oh. No shade on someone doing what they enjoy. I'm sure they would've enjoyed it just as much of they'd earned just a billion from the same effort, right?

Just note you immediately jumped to mining there... and think about how quickly you dismissed the ability to do this with literally any other activity, and the broader implications on the game.

Also, op's use of terms like "work ethic".

Would have to ask how.... 9+ Billion in 2.5 hours?

unloading a carrier?

Edit: my own XB carrier is holding about 9500 tons of LDT, waiting for some better days in terms of LTD prices.
Care to calculate?
Let me help: at 1.6 millions (*) that would be 15.2 bn credits. Selling 300t every 10 minutes (to a station with at least 1201t demand), that would be close to 2.9bn per hour.
Finding a station with 3000t demand, means i could sell using the Cutter - 750t per trip > 4500t per hour > an income of 7.2 bn per hour

(*) daydreaming currently.

Someone told them to suck eggs. So they did. And now they are rolling in trillions.

Nah, they're doing that for more than an year. Probably since mining was buffed (in October last year they had 800+ bn already)
I suspect highly optimized mapped mining runs.

As for why?
Sense of achievement.
Who doesn't want to be #1 at something at some time.
They may just need to de-stress and there's prolly plenty of other reasons.
As long as they are happy and there's nothing sinister then fair play to them as they're showing mad amounts of dedication.
Too much can be a bad thing though.

1 Trillion is a lot.
I think the only way, based on real world scenarios I will ever get to 1 Trillion Credits, is if FD intorduced Hyper-Inflation into ED economy. Anacponda coss 1BCR one day, 10BCR the next - that sort of thing.

Knowing FS though, they woudl refuse to buff the income from Combat bonds ;-)

Space legs will cost a trillion each and for those who can't afford them a default hover chair will be provided but you will be able to change the livery for 1000000 Arx.
