1/ The patch notes said they were specifically going to fix diminishing returns in double/triple.
2/ I did step into a Tri1 and saw no real difference.
3/ One jump in the black isn't going to get you very far, for most explorers in the black require thousands on tons to move their carriers around the galaxy effectively.
4/ From what I've seen from another post of yours, aren't you just mining in a Cobra with 50 something cargo space? Hardly a good baseline for mining speed.
1. And they did. Returns in overlaps are not "diminishing" anymore. Just don't give the boosts we are accustomed to.
AND it fits other patch note : overlaps were intended to NOT be (much) better the centers of hotspots.
It was there in front of your eye for the whole time.
I can't count how many times I was verbally assaulted here for mentioning that between patch 3 and 4.
2. What do you mean? Before patch 4 there was next to none Tri content for laser mining. Now you can laser mine almost as much as from SSDs.
This effectively fulfills "I WILL NOT SSD MINE" (because I am a lazy noob

) faction demands.
3. "most" explorers - a very brave assumption.
Anyway, FD never promised FCs to be a "vehicle to efortlessly reach any point in Galaxy".
It is more a case of lack of communication from FD combined with wishful thinking and limitless expectations than FCs/Tri being "broke".
And very bad order of updates:
FCs shouldn't be introduced
before
changes in mining.
4. Heh, I agree that Cobra is a bit extreme, but optimizing Tri mining ATM equires switching to SSD mining - at least this is what limited data we managed to collect suggests.
It effectively excludes Cutter as Tri mining meta ship (makes me very happy, I hate this inert brick with oversized rear thrusters)
SSD mining is faster and requires less effort in a more agile ship.
