Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

CR said he had learned his lesson after Strike Commander

CR said he had learned his lesson after Freelancer

CR hasn't learned Jack Schitt. He's the proverbial kid in a candy store.

Yeah I was thinking earlier that if he does get edged out of GI-G, he will no doubt be thinking 'wow how did this happen?' because he seems to be utterly incapable of learning from experience.

If his intention was to get filthy rich without regards for others I d say he did learn his lessons. He went after the clueless powerless people who cannot defend themselves.

But was it worth it though?

I mean - he may have a bazillion dollars and a mansion - but is a clearly and repeatedly abject failure to deliver, utter lack of ability, and to be the laughing stock of at least three industries worth that?

I'll take living in modest mediocrity with a justified sense of accomplishment and my integrity intact over any of that - any day of the week.

Did CIG confirm that was an intended mechanic?
I don't think it was intended.
At first, we have been able to equip/unequip components on rented ships in the verse. But some components were not put back in inventory at the end of the lease. So the possibility to change components had been deactivated for all rented ships.
The hangar trick was found by players afterthat.

When your persuaded you're a Perfectionist Visionnaire, and tons of gullible are convinced too and can't help but throw money at you, reinforcing your belief, you probably tend to think your integrity is stronger than ever and if something failed it was clearly not your fault.

He was already blacklisted everywhere, he surfed the wave of ancient vg glory devs putting a KS as a last coup d'éclat, he probably didn't have big to lose, and he already won big. Even if he had to flee far away it was worth it for him and his clique.

I get what Asp is hinting it and its utterly possible that Chris....even tho he might walk away a millionair after this, having secured his retirement and providing for his family...will feel depressed and unhappy about the outcome because he was again unable to accomplish his dreams and sorry to say but hes rapidly running out of time because I doubt very much that he ll get another chance like this ever again.

But I really dont care about him. He has shown less-then-desirable traits and a complete lack of integrity or skill in what hes trying to do. If he never "gets it" and keeps blaming others for his own wrongdoings I can find comfort in the fact that he is a despicable human being under my own code and I m glad I m not him, even tho I m not rich. If becoming rich takes this kind of exploitation and ruthlessness I dont even wanne be.

Explaining what exactly I mean would break a number of forum rules but if you really want to know I can offer to send you a PM about it.

The conclusion from your answer is pretty "basic" or rather obvious as I said, only you dont seem to see or want to see what I mean or maybe you do which explains this post of yours.

And I share the gaming experience you rely on. I too have played, paid and enjoyed most of the games you list. And the experiences and facts I gleened from those times help me immensely to form a coherent and realistic view on Star Citizen based on what it actually is.

LittleAnt pledged for $50...that's all I'm saying. I wish I could have paid that amount to generate the sheer amount of girlie hysteria on here... Make of that what you will :)

Weren't there limitations on upgrading components for rented ships? Is that still in place?
Yup, there still is. But 2.5m aUEC will buy you one rather than renting it. Bought in game ships still have a tendency to vanish after every patch of course :)

The good thing with bugs and unbalanced alpha is that a lot of orgs have gazillions aUEC and can now send you, with the new trade API, x milions of aUEC for you to buy a ship at each patch ;)

could you direct me to some of them?
I need some aUEC since after 3.10 is impossible to make some money without mining.

I have to be honest,I’d say pretty much anything to a bunch of gamers for a small percent of 350,000,000

I dunno, it seems like every CEO sacked for not performing is in high demand. CR is just reaching for rarefied air. Once you get to those circles you can't do anything wrong. ;)
And as to being a laughing stock, I think people would have to know who he is first, to laugh at him, and outside of a niche industry (space games!), this thread and SA - does anyone even know he exists? :sneaky:

Just ask in game chat...plenty of bazillionaires around seemingly. I would offer but I'm kinda skint in game since 3.8 bugs and 30k's wiped me out...I simply haven't put enough time into SC to make any amount of aUEC since then, I'm currently sitting on 600k or so due solely to my mining efforts when I do manage to summon the patience to play...no exploits, no Org backup...kinda sad really :D

Technically he’s a successful businessman (y)

I have enough org friends who would gladly shovel a few million my way should I ask...they do offer regularly... but I'm kinda a stickler for being a solo player even if I am friendly with most of the orgs I already know or newer ones I meet in game. I help some of the prominent haulier or mining based orgs out on occasion flying my own ships but I'm not up for membership.

Everyone still has the "free" freelancer. Use it and go do Authorized Execution Warrants around Hurston. Easy risk free money.

If you are willing to get a crime stat, you'll get even higher paying illegal missions doing the same thing after you complete a few of the Execution Warrants.

Apart from the flight model, one of the big change in this 3.10 patch is the trade APP. Its not a big technical change, but a big social one. A lot of backers haven't realized it but that's the real start of the job gameplay in SC and there are real job supply and demand in the chat now.
A detail of the video below : a player (A) with a caterpillar bought and sell 300K of diamonds with a friend (B) while paying support from another player (C).
The APP was first used by the player B to give to player A the 150 K of his part of the deal. The risk is therefore shared by A&B.
A&B put an ad to hire a support during the transport of the cargo. They don't say what type of support but it's certainly an escort with a combat ship or a turret gunner.
The cat arrive at destination and the cargo is sold. A pay C 5000 aUEC for the escort and pay B 199K.

Since the trade APP and the mining scan for all of 3.10, there are also mining groups hiring long range ships for full-time scanning job. The scanning ship find the deposits for the whole team and is paid for that.

Mole HD, with the new mining scan for all and the trade APP, you should try to sell your competence as independant miner (with or without ship). It's like playing solo, but with other players.

EDIT : corrected API by APP.
