After the Dev Diary ..... post your forum meltdown Predictions !

I'm hoping most interested parties react to the contents of the diary rather than the contents of the forum.

I think the biggest danger is FD waffling through a day where not one but two large info dumps become dustbins of eXCITING™. At 9pm tonight we need nourishment.

5. This just confirmed my worst feelings about Odyssey and i'll be returning to MSFS2020 and i'll never return until the next time.

Yeah I never really got those kinds of posts either. Do people only play games exclusively? I can't wait for the next 10 hours to pass so I can finally start playing MSFS2020, but I'm pretty sure I'll still play several other games same as I always did.

ED is like a box of chocolates really. Its not that you don't know what you are going to get, its that you are given a part filled tray and a note saying "Exciting Soon!™" that never arrives. So you wait for those orange swirls that never come, and when they do arrive they are coffee. FD have already set the path of ED and then suddenly veered all over the shop and I think a lot of angst is people saying "calm down lad, and finish what you promised before".

(sigh)

Is Frontier posting official announcements like that on their official website really too much to ask for? There’s dozens of social media platforms these days, and I barely have time to follow this one.
I think they're basing their comms off 90's rave culture - you need to be friends with some dodgy guy known as Rave-y Davey who will tip you off to wait at a payphone on the M25 for a phone-call that tells you where the stream is at. It's all very strange.

Dev Diary .. I think is much more likely to be a released video, rather than a livestream Q&A. Scheduling of a video drop is less important than seeing it when it does, something I'm sure this forum will keep you/me informed about.

I’m talking about the twitter post. First clue I have that there’s finally going to be a Dev Diary isn’t in the Elite Dangerous News forum, which is where I foolishly go for news about the game, but people chatting about it in DD. Then I wasted 15 minutes double checking that thread, and the News tab on this game’s homepage, thinking I’d missed something.

Many of the webcomics I follow, most maintained by the artist themselves, are able to condense all their social media posts onto the front page of their website. You’d think a professional game development company like Frontier, with a team dedicated to community development, would be able to do the same.

Adding insult to injury MSFS is throwing shade even on this forum now- the topics being FS and "where is ED news on a day where we get two scoops of it"

RubberNuke posted the first forum notice about the dev diary. I have made the effort to follow all the relevant CMs just for Odyssey announcement as not sure where it would appear and might just have to follow RN now. I have said on another thread, the Odyssey Announcement thread that I will say no more on your points, but it may be worth popping over there.

As far as I can work out they mentioned in a LS last week that there may be more news on last Thursday, then in Thursday LS they said the diary would be today. I think theres links on the other thread but I havent actually watched the clips.

Hey, I'm a busy dad and I've never asked for instant gratification. Don't lump us all together.
There are busy dads and then there are "busy dads".

You make a very valid point.

Even the "announcement" about 11.00 UTC is wrong (and which has now passed). It is at 7 pm BST, 6pm UST, 2 pm Eastern US.
