Question for Open players who don't like PVP/ganking... help me understand

And, more importantly, I missed the conversation about teabagging here today, and nobody told me. I am disappointed. Horny and disappointed.
I still have literally no idea what your signature's reference to teabagging actually means. And yes, I visited the website, too.

It's something about dropping "cargo" for other players' benefit - I think.

Anyways, Odyssey will almost certainly feature the ability to "drop cargo" on other players' heads, too.

Unless you cannot crouch. Which would be a shame.

I'd say the safest place is Atillus Orbital.

Partly because hardly anyone has bothered doing the CQC grind to get there, and partly because everyone that is there has had at least some experience fighting other players.
I've never even heard of this place?

Something you unlock when you CQC enough?

Fortnite dance emotes - only 5000 ARX.

Nah Cow, you'll want to pick up the Dark Souls "point down" gesture. 6,666 ARX

Yeah, You don't have to get elite, only "prestige" ie. hit rank 50 and reset.
Working on it :) Spent some time in CQC recently until I got bored (I thought it was an hour or 2) and went from lvl 32 to lvl 32.5....It'll be a while until I earn that permit.
God I know right, once your rank hits the mid-20s it slows to a crawl.

Balls, I forgot to change my signature, it's several decades out of date lol - not sure the site is live at the moment?! I'll fix it up.

But you are in the right ballpark, back when CGs with rares was a thing. Dropping cargo onto other ships is where teabagging came from. Sadly it is on hiatus at the moment though due to the removal of CGs.

So, new opportunities must be explored, including the altruistic means of crushing players with cargo cans like you mentioned! I'm sure there will be many future ways to bag people, hopefully to a flat paste.

This is the thing you're not understanding:

We're the authority. And by that I mean the members of the Pilots Federation. The rules, or whatever passes for them in this Bladerunner-esque hellscape, don't apply to us.

and you're changing lore as it was started as a trade group and pirates not tolerated, with mention of PF member going "Rogue" and "betraying" the PF. How can anyone do that if there are no rules?

It is not wrong for you to dislike the behavior. It is also not wrong for you to use a game mode that prevents that behavior from occurring.

What is unrealistic is to expect players to adhere to the same moral code you choose to apply to your in-game activities in the mode where:
  • There is a recognition that rogue CMDRs exist and are "part of the game"
  • There are weak punishments for rogue commanders
  • There is direct evidence from the literal CEO and creator of the game series that "making things go wrong for other people" is part of the richness of the game experience he intends to deliver in his product

Accepted

What is also unrealistic is, as has been done here, to demand that people not despise you for killing them in game just because you can. (no one here, at least so far as I know, is worthy of hatred and I honestly don't think the people using the word understand it)

I have stated at least twice that PvP, as opposed to "killing randoms", is something I support. I don't support the Open Only falderal for PP/BGS, but I did my PP for Mining Lances in Open to give the PvP crowd their chance. I also did it in places that were not focal points because PvP is the least efficient thing in PP and I wanted to be paid for my time.

When your kill is not a challenge, when there is no in-game justification, when the kill meets the criteria I put forth earlier today, specifically that you are seeking to distress the other player, then don't whinge about the negativity that YOU FARMED FOR. You are reaping what you have sewn, and you deserve the contempt heaped upon you.

Your finger pulled the trigger, and the ease of their destruction due to their unfitness for combat cannot be held responsible for you making that decision and its consequences. Don't blame the game for the legality, don't blame the other player for being in Open. You decided to attack someone, the someone you attacked literally could not effectively fight back. If it bothers you that I hold you in contempt for those actions, then either grow a more calloused mindset or stop attacking people "for the lulz".

Now thats fair play. All the risk of Open for no gain whatsoever :)

Joking obviously, but the amount of miners Ive had to let down gently about that weapon's, ahem, PVE prowess.
I was using a Cobra IV, so they worked reasonably well. If I remember correctly, I was doing Engineering acquisition, not profit mining.

When the law abiding members of the Pilots Federation fail to act. Or in other words, most players would prefer to post nasty things about being ganked on the internet than take any of the numerous ways, that gankers themselves even spell out time and time again, to better their lot.

Notice too how it emphasizes going after other CMDRs... nothing about, say, blowing the bejesus out of a system or two.

I do have consequences, they've been well outlined in my prior post. Annoying NPCs, notoriety, etc. If you don't play the game to make pretty pixel explosions, good for you. I do, and I paid money and am playing the game within the parameters allowed by the devs. My play style is equally as valid as yours. Everything else is your feelings which frankly, I don't care about.
Those are inconveniences, not consequences

And they're not inflicted to you by PvE players now, are they?
