Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Their 'example' was 17 sprints long (6 sprints per quarter = 9 months for that 'task'). You would not normally schedule like this - normally you would put multiple tasks into a single sprint, not a single task into multiple sprints. And the description is ... the opposite of a description. Word salad. Useless.
Love how they set up agile development as an excuse for every single self imposed deadline they fail to hit.

I think in the company i worked for if any project manager tried to tell a client or their manager something like this they would be looking for a new job.
Wait… are you suggesting that maybe CI¬G isn't very good at this whole software development thing? But they have 600 90 450+ developers! How can that be?!

A fan, content creator for SC praising EDO? Outrageous.

I've come around to watching him. He was recommened by a SC fan so at first i was skeptical, but glad i watched him. He seems fair and cautious in his praise. A bit like OA. I think he's still way too optimistic about the future of SC, but can't hold optimism against him per se, although I struggle with people who can't see CIG's lies for what they are.

Backers out in full defense mode over the new roadmap.

Still no info about beta sq42 which was promised q3

it was never promised all road map updates are estimates. I dont see why thats so hard to understand. They iterate that point over and over again.

CIG should be happy they have so undemanding backers like u :)

You'd probably be happier if you didn't follow the game for awhile. Go play something you're able to handle emotionally :)

Yup, if you have expectations the devs keep their promises then it probably means you can't handle it emotionally and should play something else.

Agile is perfect for this. The project manager doesnt dictate requirements, the client does. If the client keeps changing requirements it is gonna take longer.

So... CR is the client?

Or the backers?

If backers are allowed to run the asylum, then of course the game will never get delivered. Players are insatiable.

Oh my...

It doesn't matter if it fails as long as CR keeps trying.

I wonder how many Idrises this person has bought.

I've still got a decade or two of tears to keep filling his cup! haha

His cup overfloweth?

Chris never stated that more money would complete it faster. No adult would believe that even if he did.

That's a pretty incredible development actually. They now acknowledge that other games do exist! Whatever happened to saving pc gaming?

To think that they already played all the missions, yet still have sprints planned for the rest of the year...

Obviously you don't understand agile development ;)

Any particular sign this time around it will actually be of any use for anyone ?

Obviously you don't understand agile development ;)

In my line of work, heavy capital intensive projects with life cycles of decades in some cases even, agile is anathema. Deadlines are intrinsic to the expression of the value opportunity and business case to start with. Without them, there is no project.
