🐨 Planet Zoo: Australia Pack coming 25 August, 2020 🐨

I am excited.
  1. I love the Kangaroo, not much else to say. I would expect guests can't enter their habitat but I have seen two examples where you could, and not only see them, but feed and pet them. (P.S. they are SOOOOOO SOFT, kinda like a rabbit)
  2. I'm excited for the Dingo (I know most are wondering why not a Tasmanian Devil but I guess Tasmanian Devils being Nocturnal being a big part of it, plus I always liked seeing their close relative, the New Guinea Singing Dog, in my local zoo so Dingos are okay by me)
  3. The Cassowary looks cool, I personally would have liked an Emu but the Cassowary is definitely the only animal I'd substitute it.
  4. The Koala seems nice but given their arboreal nature, I figured they wouldn't be implemented.
  5. The scenery looks fantastic and can't wait to make an Australian Section.

I don't think they didn't include them for that Reason. We do already have the Aardvark and the Chinese Pangolin

Feedback tiiime 🥳
I love Frontier's high production values, they're unrivaled in this genre. But I do have mixed feelings about this pack (but that's an improvement over disappointment with the South America pack). I just want to say that the big update launching alongside the DLC is so welcome and so needed that I can overlook some flaws in the decision making when it comes to this new DLC. I don't know if you could have turned things around following the feedback from the last pack in the time you had. Maybe you don't want to or maybe there isn't enough time once a plan is fully baked and maybe your resources were going into the awesome new free update that making this DLC bigger wasn't practical...But Frontier, please consider making these animal rosters bigger - that's the feedback.

I don't think anyone is expecting you to go full Smash Bros Ultimate on us with a: "EVERYBODY IS HERE!"
But the model/format for the content you've settled on for your DLC is not quite hitting the mark in my opinion and I hope it doesn't end up being like what happened in The Sims' community where each pack announcement is met with a groan and an expectation to find what they've failed to include over being excited to see what they have achieved.

With that being said, I am glad to see there is a new scenario (Tanami Roadside Zoo) in the DLC. I'm guessing it's going to be a unique timed scenario? It's bit of content that is very welcome and adds value for money (if we're getting such a small roster of animals). The South America Pack having no new scenario when the Arctic pack did and they are priced the same, it was...not great.

But please...PLEASE start to plan for larger packs. I'm excited to delve into this new region in the game (and Oz is a special place to me and my fam), and so, it feels odd for you to have homed in on so few animals in such a richly populated country so full of wildlife. I'll echo what others have mentioned, to leave out the Tasmanian Devil is so sad. Will there ever be an opportunity to add it? Who knows...maybe Planet Zoo 2 one day.

I'm gonna get this pack because I have a personal attachment to the location and these animals but the thing that swings my decision round isn't the content you've included...it's the fact there is such a substantial free update happening alongside it. I don't see that happening for your next pack, whenever that might be. So I'm adding my name to the numbers of people asking: Frontier bosses and Planet Zoo producers please give us bigger DLC packs.

Finally -- Thank you to the devs for delivering the free update and this DLC during a pandemic, having worked from home and taking on a lot of stress I'm sure.

I'm getting this pack, because I am a collector and I need any building piece I can get, but I second the rest. I am blown away by the free update, as always, but the DLCs are lacking compared to it. So please, bigger DLCs for a bigger price, yes. But I assume it was too short of a time span to react to feedback. IF they react to feedback, we won't see it until next year.

I third what @TheDeadYoshi and @Swjosdotschka said, it all looks great but considering it is Planet Zoo I think there just aren’t enough animals. I feel the only Australian zoo I could really make is one like Mogo that has mainly exotic species.

I know we can’t have every species known in Australia and I’m not expecting 20 species but I was working on an Australian city zoo through lock down with African and Asian sections and hopefully I will complete it with the Australian section but now I’m not sure because half of it will be implied enclosures.

One big positive though, I think the trees will be fantastic judging by what I can see in the trailer.

I'm super stoked that we're finally getting kangaroos! The koala, dingo, and cassowary are all great additions too! I can already visualize how I'll be incorporating them in a few different habitat-types. And the new rock sets and decor look amazing! I'm actually more excited about the rocks than I thought I would be... Those will have a lot of use for implied desert habitats/exhibits, I think! Between that and the new paths, this is the first time I'm just as excited about the scenery/building pieces as I am the animals!

Looks like there's also new fence pieces and enrichment items in there too...

All that being said, I am really hoping, at some point down the line, that we get a few more Aussie critters. Tree kangaroos, tasmanian devils, and wombats specifically.

What! and DLC coming? Frontier you're really cool! 😇
I thought DLC wouldn't be released. but I was wrong. I'm twice as happy now. 🥳 It is not possible to explain this feeling, only the living know. 🤗
thanks a thousand times, Frontier... What a wonderful thing that during these tough times we will receive both a huge free update with color variations and a DLC! :)
I really like the Australia Pack, especially the orange soil has stimulated my appetite.

For those complaining about the number of animals included, well they said it takes approximately 1 month to finish one. So, expecting a crazy amount like 20 is just not possible. If you want more animals at once, then wait a year to get all the dlc, and you'll have more animals; at a cheaper price too.

Where have you got the one month iformation from? Not that I doubt, but I think it's also a question of how many people you do let work on a DLC.
And I wouldn't mind fewer but more fleshed out DLCs actually.

I am excited.

I'm excited as well.

About the Tasmanian Devil part, Isn't that weird to have in an "Australian (Outback)" pack, as the species is extinct on the Australian mainland for the past 3000 years?
I would have liked to have one though, just because of their uniqueness.

I like the Dingo as well, as it's typical Australian, but I can also get why people feel this is just another wild dog like the Wolf and the African Wild dogs.

If this is true then the base game's roster took over six years to make. I'm not sure about that 😬
