🐨 Planet Zoo: Australia Pack coming 25 August, 2020 🐨

Looking forward to the pack, going to buy it for sure! I like the Australian setting, and the building pieces which are visible in the trailer look great. Kangaroo and Koala are super amazing animals to be added. I wasn't too excited about the Dingo, but I admit the picture looks utterly adorable. I'm curious about the bird, can't judge it yet. Really eager to see more footage, because I don't know if I'll be able to play right after release.

Let's stay on track in this thread, please. We have no problem at all with hearing your opinions on the pack, and we always welcome hearing your feedback, but this is about the Planet Zoo: Australia Pack announce :) 🐨

Also, I can't wait to show the Southern Cassowary, I think they're the Dall Sheep of this pack - the unsung heroes! They're really cool looking! I don't think I've ever seen one before.

I also can't wait! The southern cassowary is my favourite in this whole pack, partly because they're so cool and dangerous, they're like the raptors of the modern world. But i am most excited to meet them in game, because i cared for them when i worked in a zoo! <3

What I'm actually looking most forward to, as always, are the new sounds! The animal sounds were always spot on in the past and even the music was great. As a woman with high sensitivity (annoying condition that makes your senses overreacting), I get annoyed or irritated by sounds easily and hear when something is off. With Planet Zoo it's really a nice experience.

That's super cool! Do you specialise in birds?

The audio team are so incredible, honestly, I have so much respect for them. The Australia Pack trailer gave me the TINGLES, the audio, paired with the visuals? Outstanding.

Hello Chante, what a beautiful pack, exceptional work, and I do agree that the cassowary is an incredible addition. To have another bird (much needed) added to the game is just wonderful. Thank you for being active during our discussions, and I hope you understand that all is intended to honor this fantastic game, one of a kind indeed. Chante since you are here, I hope you still are, would it be possible to get an update on the availability of users to be able to upload images to the game via billboards etc. I understand Planet Zoo does not follow the timeline of Planet Coaster, since that feature was added to that game with the first summer update, however since it has already being revealed by Frontier's Developers in the past that this was a feature that had been intended for the base game, and the team just ran out of time, could we get an update? It has been quite some time since release, and many other features have been address, but on this particular subject Frontier has stayed silent. Thank you and have a good day.

This picture looks incredible, the quality of this model, it is so lifelike as an animal sculptor I must say that this is one beautiful piece of art, can not wait to get my hands on it. Thank you for including this magnificent animal in the pack, I do understand everyone sentiments about all species being excluded, but there is always future DLCs. Again what an outstanding job.

I didn't really specialise, but for about 6 months the birds were the ones i took care of day in, day out. I learned so much and really grew to appreciate them so much more! Sadly i don't work there anymore (it was part of a long internship) but it was amazing. And if i ever get the chance to go back there, or go somewhere similar, i totally will! <3 :D

I'm not completely sure but I think I've heard once that Dingos where one of the Reasons why the Thylacine went extinct that early on Mainland Australia
Did a quick survey online of recent articles regarding the thylacine extinction (since I know my info is out of date), and it looks like the most recent prevailing theory is that climate change and lack of genetic variety put the species in a vulnerable position, dingoes competed with them directly and indirectly and thinned them out, and human hunting finished the job. Still, the dingo has unique adaptions (as compared to other canines) to help it be live in Australia and it's certainly an essential part of the ecosystem now, so I'll stand by their inclusion.

Can't wait to hear the Koalas in the Game. I really like the Sounds they make

I'd prefer the wombat over the tasmanian devil, just because it seems more common in zoos.

Common in zoos where though? This pack is representative of Australia. In Australia and New Zealand, the Tasmanian devil has become a cornerstone of conservation. Every major zoo in New Zealand has the Tasmanian devil (Orana Wildlife Park, Wellington, Auckland), and only one has the dingo (Wellington), and even then those dingos are hand-tamed and used as ambassador animals because there's no concerted effort to breed them or any real breeding programme in place for them.

The Tasmanian devil is going the same way as the thylacine. Populations are ravaged by disease, they're often the victims of road accidents due to encroachment on their habitat. They're disappearing at an alarming rate. There's no good reason not to include them; the only one I can think of for choosing the dingo over the devil as being representative of Australian carnivores is that it was easier to make minor adjustments to the wolf again than to create a new rig. Which, you know, I don't blame Frontier for making that call in essence but it is disappointing.

Hence why I said this is probably the only time I'm going to cross my fingers and hope they return to Australia in some fashion further down the line. In any case I don't think it's unfair of me or others to express our disappointment with the dingo. I'm perfectly happy with the other animals (would have preferred the emu, like @markun has said, but the cassowary was bound to make the cut because it's bright and colourful so I'm not too upset by that), and I'm glad they went with the koala in the end (I was suspicious of seeing a tree kangaroo in the game after the rainbow gum was pointed out, so I'm happy they didn't go that way), but just like how some people were disappointed there was no capybara in South America, and no Arctic fox in the Arctic Pack, I'm disappointed that we've missed out on a hugely important species in favour of the dingo.

I’m growing to love this new dingo screenshot and the animal itself. Maybe they are not so bad after all hahaha

Like I said before I’m thankful for the dingo since there is no chance I would get the Dhole. Dingo in my opinion is the closest looking canine to Dhole. So... happy me!

I also can’t wait to see koala and cassowary behavior. This game is getting better and better

Holding my breath till tuesday
