Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Was just looking at that.

It was one thing Sandi swanning off from her responsibilities as head of marketing, but the CEO who should be 100% dedicated, or as some backers like to dream, be knee deep in code, is apparently now involved with making documentaries.

Exit strategy underway?

Also: Star Citizen (Video Game) (producer) (post-production)

Post-prodction? Wow! I guess SC is almost done!
It's done goofed that is.

Anyway EVERSPACE 2 is looking like a good sc/squadron 42 hybrid game.

So do the backers here have any questions for Chris Roberts spending time co-directing a documentary completely unrelated to Star Citizen?

I suggest one of you ask a pertinent question on Spectrum. Call it the $300M question if you like. ;)

My guess:

"Chris has worked hard on SC for the last 8... 6... 4.... years (i reboot from 4 years ago). He deserves a break"

"He's probably working on it in his spare time. Chris is a hard worker and i'm sure it isn't affecting his focus on SC"

Something like that.

Dear sir, it is a pity you decided to jump into this dumpsterfire to avoid answering my question:
But the prison system was pitched ! Once again, the perfect exemple of CIG having plan.
"Death of a Spaceman" in 2013
...If you are a criminal and are delivered to a prison planet...
2020, they have released a crime status, a big prison system, body dragging and the cutlass blue.
Do name that prison planet that has actually been made 7 years later.

It's okay, Christopher absolves himself.

They now have metric tons of mocap data, cutsenes, voice overs certainly too, which may, or may not fit in any future game that will go around them.
It's all right, LittleAnt says this just means they had a plan all along.
When they published their first "serious" roadmap (was it 2018, or 2019 ? it's not so old) they had basically everything to do from zero, which means there was absolutely no game before that.

Edit: Just to be clear, he's listed as both a Director and Location Producer.
I'm not doing it...fed up with being banned from Spectrum :)

Dear sir, that's just doesn't work that way. CI-G pitching something and then not implementing it, in seven years, is the perfect example of CI-G not having a plan.
What's a plan for you ?
CIG said they want to add prison. Several years later, they add prison... It's look like a plan no ?
I don't see exactly how the number of years invalidates having plan.
If I follow your reasoning, the Sagrada Família has no plan either ?

Well, to be fair, director/producer credits don't always equal significant commitment and people do occasionally do stuff like that because a friend asked to a project.

I'd argue that considering the state of SC, unless this side business (like his involvement with Turbulent/Firesprite) might have some positive benefit for CIG/SC/SQ42, then he shouldn't even spend an hour on it, unless its 100% his own time. But if he has spare time, again considering the state of SC/SQ42, i'd be amazed. Unless, as has been speculated, he's been sidelined by investors.

If CR really retains control, better he focus on his day job.

Heh, fair enough. Personally I'm not that invested so I don't really care what he does, I just enjoy the trainwreck.

In a way, it might be a good question whether Chris actually contributes anything meaningful when he hangs around at CIG studios...
