Fleet carrier jump overhaul

1: Allowing us to actually schedule jumps far in advance of the jump ( maybe like a max of 48 hours kind of thing)

2: allowing carrier routes where the carrier will give you a report on how long the route will take and how much fuel it would take, automatically jumping back to back to back until you get to the destination. And like idea #1 you can set when it will start the route.

So you want to be able to jump along a route - but want to wait 2 days between jumps? Weirdo.

No I want to be able to schedule jumps ahead of time so I don’t have to be there when it happens every time, 2 days would be a maximum, you could set it anywhere from 15 minutes to 48 hours depending on when you want the jump to occur

Ahhh, so you want a very slow wormhole.

I'd like to be able to program my Vulture to go to a Nav Beacon and shoot pirates for 48 hours, so I don't have to bother playing the game either.

These people all wanting the game to play itself, you know there's such a thing as a little bird that will press keys for you, I am sure if you got enough of them and a programmed board to slide them in and out you oculd do just about anything in game!

1 is a really good suggestion. Since the FC can serve a lot more people than just the CMDR that owns it, that 15 minute warning is far from ideal. You could even have the FC just straight up accept bribes to postpone departure up to a certain timeframe if there's demand.

2 sounds a bit too much. You already are capable of a 500 ly jump without any neutron planning or even engineering, though I guess at this point it becomes just annoying and makes little sense to do the multiple jumps manually on a ship you don't even directly control.

Idk, the bribes thing seems very exploitable, instead of killing random people salt miners just go out and delay carriers to beyond eternity, screwing with schedules and the like.

automatically fighting enemies for you is very different from what I’m suggesting

Mind you, if Commander want to "gank" me by throwing cash at me ... would certainly make up for rebuys they usually dish out!

I think that and request 2 are possibly problematic (possibly) but scheduling departure ahead of time sounds a good idea to me. I resided on Gnosis for at least 18 months and the schedule (a week ahead in that case) gives you a chance to plan any exploring you want to do in deep space before depart or decide if you have time to run to an engineer before a planned departure on a tour.

Even if it's not done as a "course laid in," suggestion 1 has the advantage of allowing some form of communication with potential passengers. Another could be an extend of the squad system maybe, eg. being a full member of one squad-squad and an enlisted passenger of one carrier ("squad") at a time?
