Game Discussions Microsoft Flight Simulator

Saw that. I'm through it already so it's no longer my concern, but I sure hope they fixed that absolute pile of **** of an installer. Nobody deserves to go through that in this day and age.

Yeah, that was the main plan for this patch, so I hope so too. I'm not about to uninstall mine to test though! ;)

Some small but useful fixes. Like not crashing when I plug my Hotas in. That kind of thing.

I suspect most of the devs have been on holiday / vacation this past fortnight.

Friend of mine asked for a flight above his place of living...this one's for @askavir 🙂:

...just beware if you plan to get to peak altitude above Etna with a C172 flying in a straight line, I think you'll need to take off somewhere north of Copenaghen, the thing just doesn't climb. 😅

Uh, oh. My update locked up MSFS 2020. The graphics card could not handle it. CPU was not feeling well, either.

Uninstalling, will try again tomorrow.

So after jumping in and out of a bunch of different aircraft I decided to buckle down on the Cessna 152 and start actually learning (Also playing at the computer for the full array of options and not on the couch with just a controller).

I have also turned off chase cam instruments for the first time tonight and I am trying to familiarize myself with the cockpit, hell even clicking the occasional button or switch manually.

I have one question though and I'm stumped. I notice I have two compasses but they seem manually adjustable ones that don't auto correct to show my heading. How do I figure out which direction I am flying in? (Without contacting atc or using stars / vfr map).

Ah I found it! Directly to the left of the yoke its a heading / compass indicator. Great, no more chase cam hud allowed!
Also right in the center top of the windscreen, how did I miss them lol.

Yesterday I tried the Shock Ultra, and it feels like an RC plane. It can take off on the dime too. But I still managed to crash as after landing I did try to brake and the plane just flipped over.
Fortunately, my RP character got no injuries and thanks to his deep pockets, a new aircraft is waiting for him at Hamilton airport, New Zealand (yes, I got the far from Europe despite 1:1 real time flying :) ).

Lucky you, erm the RP character. I suppose he’s got a good sponsor deal.

But there is time compression if someone wanted to speed up things?

Brakes work best being bound to an axis or rotary, to prevent flipping over on the lighter aircraft. It also helps when taxiing, to apply just a bit of braking force to keep the plane on slow speed.

Brakes, and nosewheel steering. The banes of life on the ground. :(

Guys, after the update, on the same settings as yesterday my game looks bad aka blurry as hell. Every texture is like with photoshop gauss blur applied. Tried different AA setting nothing seems to be helping. To be honest it looks like "c word" :(((

I've been wondering yeah, there's no time compression? I couldn't find anything. I've found the cruise/descent/approach thing and it's nice, but that seems more like a complementary feature than an outright replacement.
