Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I did actually end up on that website but I wasn't sure if it was legit. I'll take your word for it, Tyres.
Github is legit. It's an Open Source repository - that is owned by Microsoft since two years. For anything you can download from there, you can get the source code, analyse and compile it yourself if you like.
That's not to say that there isn't some pretty scary stuff there - networking tools that some people may classify as "hacker stuff" and that could land you in jail if you use them on systems without the system's owners permission.

Part of me is asking "What on earth are they!?" but the more level-head me is saying "Don't ask. Find out for yourself!" :D

I don't know. What i can tell you is theory only, based on empirical evidence, but with huge gaps, so it's a bit early to speculate yet.
Remember, the scale of the map is vast, so there could be a whole eco-system built into the galaxy map, which is what i'm tending towards currently.
I think @marx has a better handle on the subject than i do.

As you say, the pleasure is in the doing, although that is no reason not to ask.
Thinking can be quite pleasurable too, if you put your mind to it. :giggle:

A tool owned by Microsoft sounds totally safe.
Wow. Really?

I'll be online in a couple of hours, tough guy.

Metallic rings, metallic rings. Where for are thou, metallic rings? :D

Also, I realise I may have made a small faux pas on the keyboard front. I have the lights all turned out to add atmos (no, not the Dolby variety!), but now I can't see the KB properly. I have "J" mapped to jump which is pretty close to "K" which I have mapped to toggle FA.

I've had some interesting mining manoeuvres.

I think I should have invested in a baclkit model.

Protest avatar. I also have whiskers. I think FD will listen soon enough.

If we don't get Cockpit Cats, I intend to make my avatar flash different colours. Yeah! I'll do that.
I hope you will re-consider this decision.Perhaps if you could explain the concept in a little more detail you might garner more support from the community for this enhancement which you so earnestly desire.

Magnificent... um... in some ways. But you know, cats... furballs, ruined carpet. Ruined cats.

Incidentally, the one on the right is named "Sookie" and that's where my Phantom got her "Sookie Stardust" moniker. She's er, "out there" somewhat and I think I may have mentioned her before. She does stuff like watch noone come down the stairs and chase invisible unicorn farts.

I was looking at iPads recently since I had to sell my old iPad Air 2 when I lost* my last job. Apparently the new keyboards are backlit, which I like.

*lay in bed and didn't turn up to.
