Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

peristently increasing hard and software resource sucking requirements ;)

I fired SC up today to test out a new storage doodah.

15FPS.

I lulzed a bit, and then after a painful 45 minutes of unsuccessfully trying to get anywhere, parked my Lancer on top of some snowy spire thing and bedlogged.

I went back in to test "persistence" and have absolutely no clue where I am. Logged back into bed, and was not killed by exiting it and neither did I fall through the floor. No planet in sight, anywhere - and I've gained a whopping 5FPS!

CDPR just released the final official minimum and recommended PC specs to run CP2077...basically, it'll run on a 4 slice toaster with a monitor. It kinda makes a complete joke of Star Citizen with it's 8, 9 or 10 years in development (answers on a postcard, please) and it's peristently increasing hard and software resource sucking requirements. CDPR have stated that although CP2077 will run quite happily from an HDD, they recommend an SSD... ;)

Yay! I'm in!

So much for "Take as long as you need, CIG." The longer they take, the higher the bar gets. Good luck to them with their in-game version of Earth.
If we're all honest, Ci¬G ran out of time 3 or 4 years ago with regard to Star Citizen creating a technical bar of any kind. If they rush, they might be able to catch up to whatever is in 100th place by the time SC gets past the alpha stage :)

Star Citizen is destined to be an 'also ran' and nothing better than that. Current generation games have long since overshadowed SC in every aspect, next gen will relegate it to obscurity before it ever releases.

y'all might not be able to see it because i play at 3840 x 1600

barely ever dropped below 30...... (which is abysmal considering my specs)

but im not on here talking about my super computer

either your capture software or your encoder sucks, why is it still a 16:9 video?
