Probably a reflect in the window.

It's not the best star trail picture but the only one I've seen from inside a building.
Some prettier ones

Heh, that brings me memories from some my old old Elite posts...

"Rain of Stars"

Circumpolar capture and tidal lock

Star trail of around 30 minutes exposure at Caucuma 10A, a frozen/rocky planet of around 2.000km radius and 0.12G. 10A is also a satelite of Caucuma 10, a helium and hydrogen based gas giant located at around 2 AU of the main star in the system.

Caucuma 10A also happens to be tidally locked to its orbiting partner and it has a relatively quick rotational/orbital period of 1 earth days.

In this star trail capture we can see how the rotation of 10A makes the sky stars translate, including the main system star, Caucuma, which lightens the whole scene from the center right of the view. While Caucuma 10, the gas giant, remains at exactly the same spot, hence showing the tidal lock on 10A.”

Wow, more than 40 hours a week. Such commitment for only a measly C-level executive salary, bonuses, perks and stock options.
Then again, this is Chris Roberts. Every hour of work he doesn't put in every week probably equates into several hundred manhours of work not wasted on pointless greenlighting meetings, micromanagement, and conflicting and ever-changing priorities. Imagine if he worked no hours — that would be equivalent to having something like 600+ people on staff working towards completion.

I gave my new graphics card a workout last night by heading to the spaceport. And I found that I was far too negative when I predicted 24 fps. I actually managed a max of 27 fps 😃. And that was after taking @LittleAnt's advice. It didn't matter whether the graphics were set to low, medium or high. And neither my cpu nor gpu went above 60%. Lots, and I mean lots, of graphics glitches. So clearly SC doesn't like my pc. It also didn't help that I'm clearly an idiot. I managed to get to the spaceport and order a ship but I couldn't work out where the hangars were. So after an hour of this I decided to play something (which I find) fun instead. Sorry SC, I'll come back when you're feeling better, hopefully at the next freefly.

Glad to see you accept that its all your fault and the fault of your PC, and not the fault of CIG, who should be absolved.

Of course they should be absolved. After all any pc which is better than their minimum recommended requirements should be able to run SC. It's clearly because I'm an idiot that my PC can't run this buggy, unoptimised mess of a game. Hopefully I'll have better luck with the SQ42 beta later this week 😉
