In other times, I would be salivating for Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6. Skyrim, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Fallout NV (although this one is only published by Bethesda) are some of my favorite games ever, Skyrim for instance, I have more hours clocked in both Skyrim editions than in all other games I have ever played in 30 years combined.
However, after witnessing bethesda's latest blunders, their continuous decline in quality after Skyrim and their progressive cutting out of the RPG elements in their games since Morrowind (see Fallout 4, it's barely even an ARPG anymore) and especially their shift in attitude over the past few years, their increasing controlling (and monetizing) mods stance, crapping on customers, joining the micro-transactions bandwagon, including selling the game, even quests, in small little chunks (they have already tested in it Skyrim with their Saints and Seducers creation club "DLC").
As much as it pains me, as Elder Scrolls was my favorite franchise ever, I have no doubt in my mind that Elder Scrolls 6 will be a stinking turd, containing all the crap practices of the modern gaming industry combined. And there's no reason to believe Starfield will be any different.
Or... perhaps Bethesda will take a step back and look into the error of their recent ways, and use the opportunity to avoid destroying their flag franchise, and earn back the love of their fans. I highly doubt it, but I would sure love to be wrong.
