Game Discussions Bethesda Softworks Starfield Space RPG

True, but now we have an inkling when the PS5 might actually hit the shelves some of these games might get some traction. I'm also interested in the next Elder Scrolls but Bethesda say it ain't happening until after Starfield.

For the next couple of years, I think the best we can expect from Bethesda is that they're going to slowly re-make Fallout 76 into an actual game and milk it for as long as possible.
The horizon they've given for TES6 is 10 years. That probably means the closest window for Starfield is 2023-25. If we're lucky.
I am quite pessimistic about Bethesda games, atm.

In other times, I would be salivating for Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6. Skyrim, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Fallout NV (although this one is only published by Bethesda) are some of my favorite games ever, Skyrim for instance, I have more hours clocked in both Skyrim editions than in all other games I have ever played in 30 years combined.

However, after witnessing bethesda's latest blunders, their continuous decline in quality after Skyrim and their progressive cutting out of the RPG elements in their games since Morrowind (see Fallout 4, it's barely even an ARPG anymore) and especially their shift in attitude over the past few years, their increasing controlling (and monetizing) mods stance, crapping on customers, joining the micro-transactions bandwagon, including selling the game, even quests, in small little chunks (they have already tested in it Skyrim with their Saints and Seducers creation club "DLC").

As much as it pains me, as Elder Scrolls was my favorite franchise ever, I have no doubt in my mind that Elder Scrolls 6 will be a stinking turd, containing all the crap practices of the modern gaming industry combined. And there's no reason to believe Starfield will be any different.

Or... perhaps Bethesda will take a step back and look into the error of their recent ways, and use the opportunity to avoid destroying their flag franchise, and earn back the love of their fans. I highly doubt it, but I would sure love to be wrong.

I keep playing skyrim, warts and all.
Have to admit I'm sick of how the UI must suck for PC so that consoles can be included.

If you hate the Skyrim UI, wait until you see the new "dialog wheel for idiots" in Fallout 4... Fortunately, mods saved the day. The dialogue UI mind, not the dialog outcomes that are usually the same whatever you choose.

I still have hope.
They rushed Fallout76 out the door, a buggy, lazy, mess, and that ruined their entire reputation.

These 2 games they are working on now they are actually taking their sweet time on, meaning(hopefully) we could get something really special.

Oh and hopefully they do not ruin it with multiplayer!!!! I want mod compatibility and an engine not limited by multiplayer compromises.

Talking about upcoming Bethesda games and the PS5 in the same breath might become a sore subject at some point in the near future...I certainly hope Microsoft won't pull that Sony-type exclusivity nonsense, but business being business, you never know. ;)
