Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

I've been out of the business since the early 90's, but unless the fundamental definition has changed in a later Consolidation Act, the definition of Insolvency in the 1986 Act was "being unable to pay debts when they fall due". There is very little, if any, grey area in this definition, as there is an instrument that acts as proof of it i.e. an unpaid Statutory Demand served under the Act, which a creditor (alleged or otherwise) is able to do for an amount owed (I think last time I looked) over £600 for corporates and £1,000 or £5,000 for individuals (the difference was to protect the "little man" from legal bullies, whilst making corporates accountable to almost anyone). You also don't need anything more than an unpaid invoice or evidence of unpaid wages etc. to serve a Statutory Demand, as the decision about the debt's validity is taken during the Petition hearing.

Assets owned as an individual or a company are irrelevant i.e. an entity can own £millions in assets, but if they don't pay against the service of a Statutory Demand within 21 days then the creditor (proven or otherwise) is then able to petition the High Court for Bankruptcy or Compulsory Winding Up (there were two halves of the Insolvency Act 1986 dependent on whether the entity is an individual or corporate). Having exercised both of these instruments, in my experience a petition is usually avoided at all costs, because if the court grants the petition (and that is done dependant on the evidence presented at the petition hearing i.e. none of this Small Claims junk), then notices are placed in the London Gazette for "all" to see.

This of course was only relevant for England and Wales, as Scotland has its own laws iirc in this respect (sorry Mole HD).
We have our own laws because we're a Sovereign nation ;)

Miribot as usual picking up on some good posts from la-la land.

It's not about the waiting. It's about the journey and experiencing history of the Apollo Space Program of game development. From ambitious plans, evolution, spactacular launch failures to picking up the pieces and learning from them. This is a wonderful, bumpy adventure but without the Viking funeral. Backer since November 2012...or was it 2013. Anyhow I learned to cook my first turkey when I started my game account and so that's my test pilot handle.

SC is the Apollo Space Program of game development????

That's a bold statement.

Apparently the Apollo program cost 25 billion (156 billion adjusted for inflation). I hope this isn't an indication of how much SC will cost!

The program lasted 11 years. CIG looks set to beat that.

When I stumbles upon the RSI website right years ago, I was f'ing elated. Finally, finally, someone was trying to make what I'd wanted for so long. And not just any someone, but Chris freakin' Roberts! The same guy whose Wing Commander games had been so awesome back in the day. I couldn't pledge fast enough (I'd have a four digit ID if I hadn't had to wait for payday to make my pledge, lol).

Huh, what a freakin' dreamer that guy is. I'm an awesome owner of zero-digit ID!!

It wasn't supposed to be a discussion, it was a point in the right direction.

Carve that in stone :D :D :D

Not sure where to begin with that.

I wanted to write so many obvious jokes about how the Apollo program suffered from massive scope creep, refused to outline what the scope even was and missed so many deadlines they eventually said "no we won't give a launch date because we don't want to crunch"..I even had a joke about ship stores and sandworms on the moon.

Then I died of starvation because I forgot to eat hotdogs

Everyone knows SC has the best space combat ever, best FPS ever, best space sim mechanics ever, best ground vehicle combat ever, best MMO mechanics ever, best NPC population ever and best ship sales for real money ever.

Should definitely check it out, I hear 3.11 is the patch to play, until the next patch. Don't you know there is no feature creep, every patch has exactly what it is supposed to have, they give out reports on what goes in a patch out of the goodness of their own hearts and every dollar is multiplied by ten before going straight into development but only after it passes through CR's cars and mansion.

Only two more months until the next best ship sale ever.

That diagram hurts my brain...
  • Single boxes for things like "ICACHE", "Full Persistence" and entire careers ... and also for things like "Cleaning and Mopping" and "Lighting, radiation, temperature effect plants species differently"
  • Apparently "Angle Penetration Damage" somehow depends on iCache? ... What?!
  • "Plastic Surgery"
  • "Service Equipment and Crew Pod" that is apparently not linked to anything else in the whole game
  • "Pooping"
This is fairly clearly a fan-made creation, but I can't help but feel like it's probably about as coherent as CIG's...

I seriously hope that diagram hasn't come from CIG towers...or maybe I've got it all wrong and in order to make it not rain so much, I should plant many olive trees on my property, or if I want snow I should seed my lawn with pines?

I have no idea what I'm doing so this is more a thought exercise for discussion.
Keen to hear community feedback on what I've missed because I am WELL AWARE there is a LOT. If you see something that SHOULD be linked to something else or something that is required before a gameplay loop/tech will function (to the best of our knowledge) please comment so I can make changes.
Would love to eventually (upon completion) turn it into a collapsing/expanding UI to make it easier to track.
